Author Guess Who #11

Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Who are you? Who, who, who, who? Well did I get you in the mood?  It has been a while since we had one of these so I was saying to my self, "Self, ask Renee if she has one loaded up and ready to go!" Well lucky you, she did! Now I challenge you all, I dare you, no, I double dog dare you to hazard a guess on who our mystery Author is.   What is one thing that most GA members mig

Dear Santa

Dear Santa         Listen, I'm going to need you to not pop by my place this year. I know, you're super bummed cause you wanted to drop off all that good shit, but seriously this is just not the year. In fact, you probably shouldn't do your run at all this year. Social distancing is the name of the game right now, and a man traveling by airborne animal sleigh going to all the houses (above a certain income threshold) in the world just seems like a bad call champ. I mean, what if you got Cov

First Kiss

No matter how hot and steamy the sex may get between your main character and his love interest later on in your story...sometimes the sweetest and most explosive moment of all comes from that very first kiss. Even if your characters are older and it's not their first kiss ever...it's that first delicate connection with the guy you're passing off as his perfect counterpart. If done right, a first kiss between characters can be just as erotic as every other part of your story, if not more so.

Getting Yourself Out There

So, you've done it! You put in the time and the energy and the effort, you've drained yourself creatively, and you've put together a story that you can be proud of. One that can touch and inspire as well as excite and arouse. Awesome! Now, all you have to do is put it out where people can read it so they can be thrilled by your genius. Just find a place to post your work...and wait. And wait... And wait some more... Ok, so what's going on here? Where's the praise? Where are the gr

Character Flaws

Are any of us perfect? I mean, I'm sure that a lot of us realize that we're not actually perfect...and the few that do believe they're perfect are often blind narcissists...hehehe, and therefore NOT perfect! Honestly, that's not even something that I would ever want to shoot for. If perfection is determined by some sort of direct formula or standard, if it's a bunch of little boxes that all have to be checkmarked to be considered a part of that group...then that would mean it's our imperfections

Set the Stage

Imagine if you were watching a movie or a play for the first time. You've never heard of it before, you've never seen any advertisements about it, and you don't even know what it's going to be about. Now...imagine if you could hear the dialogue and everything that's going on...but the stage or the screen is shrouded in complete darkness for the first fifteen minutes. You can't see anything at all. You just have to sort of listen to the words and use your imagination to figure out what's going on

Weekly Wrap Up Nov. 29 - Dec. 5

Yes, it is December already!  Only 19 more sleeps until 🎅 comes to see all the good boys and gurls at GA  If he is still alive   I'm going to be short and sweet, I have a killer headache and body aches. Note to anyone out there that if you have a prosthetic leg and you and not wearing said leg, and stand up and turn around to put your residual limb (stump) on your wheelchair, ensure wheelchair hasn't moved 4 feet away I saw my fall in slow motion, not as graceful as Keanu in the Matrix tho

Who's Next? Ask An Author 3.0?

I want to start out this blog by saying a HUGE thank you to @Carlos Hazday for all his work doing the Ask An Author feature for the last 3 years!!!  I am deeply appreciative of all the work that Carlos has put into the feature over the years. To be honest, keeping a single feature going on a monthly basis for that long is A LOT of work and yet Carlos managed to always have one ready for us. Unfortunately for us, after 3 years of dedication to the Ask An Author feature, Carlos has decided that it

Gillygate's Updates

Hey guys 😀 First of all, don't take this as a nag. It's really not meant to be. But the daily updates only take place if the most recent chapter gets comments on it. Otherwise updates take at least a week. While I have quite a few chapters pre-written, more time to write them means the updates are likely to be longer. So guess that's up to you. Anyway as this story is much more relaxed I'm open to a heap of suggestions. Including spell recomendations or character inserts. Or any aspect
