    Weekly Update (Dec. 22 - Dec. 28)

    By wildone

Ho Hum   LOL.  Do any of you feel that that the time off between Christmas and New Years can be a bit challenging?  I mean I have visited with family and friends and such over the past week and a bit, but now we have 2 more days before New Years and then things can return to normal  Well, as normal as my life can be .  Geez, not even 100 words in and I'm at 4 emojis already. I must be emotional today 😢.  Okay, enough about me, or so you think. Was this years Christmas profita

Sorry it's been a while

hehe...Sorry it has been so long. Chapter 5 is still in the writing stage. Getting a new committee going is really time consuming...and then they asked me to lead it. but it has been really fun so far   I am being told there are some really good things to come here at GA, so stick around

A Good Day, Feeling better about 23, And Random ?s

So today was good. I had two meetings at work. Anyway my license still isn't in so I'm not actually doing anything (or getting paid before you guys think what a good deal I've got ). Anyway during the meeting my boss mentioned this to everyone so it was kinda fun the whole meeting just stopped and everyone started talking to me telling me how much it sucked, and to hang in there and stuff lol.   So then I came home and read a bit and took a nap, that was fun. I sleep so well! ....lol

a.k.a Bob Vila

It's been a while since I did a blog so I figured I'd better get to it! Let's see.....   Work is going very well, I even picked up a way to make a little extra money cleaning the office. It's only for a couple of hours every other week but it comes out to $100 bucks a month and every little bit helps. Between my regular job, and my night job and the cleaning Sam should have a good christmas!!   I've been hit by a remodeling bug these last few weeks, leave it to me who always has to be 'di

A decent prospect

I had a phone interview today with a large translation firm. They're looking for a Project Manager. The interview went well, and they asked me to go in on Tuesday afternoon for an in-person interview. The pay isn't that great, and it would be a lot of work, but it might be a good place to start, and the benefits are pretty good. If I get the job, I'd have to go through a government background check for a security clearance, since about 50% of their work is government contracts. I shouldn't have

one year later and the 98th blog

I don't know if there is a 'blog anniversary' but if there is... Happy 1 Year Anniversary to... me One year ago today, I wrote and posted my first blog and since then... 97 blogs later I've found it to be an outlet, a fun way to communicate, a great way to discuss things, to tell stories, and to get feedback from people about all kinds of things... so I want to say thanks to everyone who has taken the time to ever read, write, respond, mention, etc... to me about it because I really appreciate

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today I registered at Gay Authors after I finished reading The Log Way by Dom Luka, and the rest is history I found the Soap Box, then I found the rest of the forums, including The Library. The Soap Box is gone, The Library has been replaced by e-fiction, and it seems like there's all new people at the forums. I mean, there's a lot of people from last year, but it seems like a lot of the people who were here before have stopped posting, but in their place, some awesome new people c

HP - a cyanic rant

I've got a printer. It's an SRA3 four colour HP inkjet, and the replacement cartridges - you need 4 - are hellish expensive. So when the local cheapo German supermarket - they might be sixty years late but they're finally beginning to win - start selling 'do it yourself' refill packs I thought 'Ah Ha!'   Bad move. HP printers have a chip that denies you this privilege. So I hunt on Google for a way around it. No problem ... thin strip of plastic to kill the printer's battery also renders the c

Presentations 12......the wackness never stops

OK, so if you haven't heard the news yet, I just made it to the shared hosted page on GA. I'm very excited and very nervous, but I'm more excited than anything. I've got a lot of writing to do, and I'm proud that I get to do it here.....I promised myself that I wasn't going to stop working until I made it to my own Hosted site at GA, and now that I'm almost there, I feel like it's time to turn things all the way up. there's only one problem I seem to be having.....   I need to design a page an

Cats are better than Kids!

Cats are superior to kids in all respects.   Forget to feed a cat and he will go out and kill something. Try that with kids and the welfare will come after you.   Cats kill vermin. Kids attract vermin.   Kids are messy. Cats, with the exception of litter-box and cat-fur, are exceptionally clean.   Cats are independent. Kids are always whining "Mummy, Mummy!"   Kids are noisy. Cats are usually quiet unless they are hungry.   Petting a cat will lower your blood pressure. Dealing with

I kinda like this quick style

So we'll try it again... although maybe it's cause I am SO damn sick I have no patience to concentrate on anything except stopping my head from exploding   Called the DMV  and it seems that even though they tell us to wait 6 weeks before even attempting to talk to a human, it seems they have known since week 2 that I never got my new liscence and so now I have an appointment there today at 3:45 to tell them to resend it to me since I never got it, although they already f**king know tha

still thinking of one...

Quick style blogging today   I'm sick   I just got a flat tire on the freeway on my way home from taking Rich to work at 8 am in my pajamas with both kids in the car and Tony came to rescue me   I have to go get a new tire now... adds that to huge and still growing list of crap to get done today    Also have to call the DMV to find out why I STILL don't have my new drivers lisence after I renewed it online over 6 weeks ago   My son starts Kindergarten on Wednesday and we H

Yay! Finally

Jenson Button has won the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix   Formula One is the only sport I follow with any interest. Football (soccer) - Na. Boring. Kicking an inflated pigs bladder around a pitch for ninety minutes is not my bag. Cricket likewise. Tennis is great to play, but on TV nope. etc, etc. BUT ... F1 Rocks! deja vu - apologies if I've said this before, but honestly I can't be arsed to check, and anyway this is my blog, and 'streams of drivel' are permissible.   So today Jenson Button, an E

Buried.....

Well, I made the mistake this morning of sending chapter one to Nifty and I got a reply from them saying that they added it to the No Sex section of the site.....I guess that's kinda where it belongs, but it kinda ticks me off because no one goes to that part...it's the same place they buried Obligation To Myself, and I was a little pissed about that too.....   I wrote a new poem today where I think I was finally able to come to terms with something thats had me depressed since I was a little

The Captain & The Kid

Elton John's new album, "The Captain & The Kid," is coming out in September, and the first single, "The Bridge," is now available on EltonJohn.com -- you have to be a member of the official fanclub to go to that part of the site, though. It's an interesting choice for a single, since the track is only Elton's vocals and piano, no other instrumentation. It's a beautiful song, with very touching lyrics, but not very commercial. The whole album is a concept album, the sequel to his 1975 "Captai

Luau

Aloha!...lol......tomorrow Im going to a Luau at Fort Story and I get the feeling it's gonna be awesome. Im a really hyped mood about it. Also, I finished My Jump Off for anyone who didn't know.....I posted the last chapter yesterday, then I posted chapter two of Bodega Bay this afternoon. I'm still working on chapter 31 of What's The Difference because I got a little sidetracked by My Jump Off and Bodega Bay. I was so excited about finally finishing a story that I my mind started to work a mill

"This Is Love"

No I'm not in love myself, but the guys in this video are:   This Is Love by Jason and Demarco   Check it out, I'm not sure how long that link will work though, right now they have the # 1 video there, but I'm guessing that changes daily or weekly, but you should still be able to find them in the list for a week or so I would think.   I guess as far as love songs go it's fairly generic, but the video is so cute and sweet! It made me giggle in delight several times lol. It's also cool bec

Return to Eden

So I got back late yesterday from my trip to visit my family and attend my friend's graduation party. Before I get down to other stuff here's an amusing highlight. I passed this sign on the way that was advertizing a restaurant two hundred and ninety-two miles away! As well as listing a few of the menu highlights they also raved in large print about their "Fabulous Restrooms". It's like, "well lets go there! I know it's like four and a half hours away and we're all hungry and we have to pee
