Ray Price dead at 87

Many of you youngsters have no idea who Ray Price is. I used to wake up to him singing on Saturday mornings at my home. My Dad loved him. If you want to hear some wonderful and heartfelt music, Google Ray Price Greatest Hits. 'For the Good Times is wonderful, but I love so much of his music. Damn TSA

So when I got to the airport today and was going though the TSA they were questioning my temporary Iowa Driver's license. It is equipped with a watermark and security features but the guy was asking for something else. He asked for my social security card, which I don't carry. I landed up showing an insurance card and credit card. I was surprised I didn't have to give a DNA sample. I was so happy when I got home and in my mailbox was my official Iowa Drivers License. Two Weeks Later and My Friend's Official Obituary

It's been two weeks since my friend Stephen died. I checked out his FB page, and found a link to his obituary.   It's so strange. I've actually had this habit since I was 11 or 12 years old of reading obituaries. This guy in high school said I was morbid for doing so, but I've always liked reading about the interesting and long lives of people who lived through things like World War II or the Great Depression. Bully and a Black Eye

This is absolutely crazy. My eight year old grandson is sporting a black eye. "real black eye" His eye is almost swollen shut, and black puffiness below. He was defending the same little boy from a few weeks ago. The teachers told my daughter that they were looking into it. The little guy Kyle defended is very young and naïve. What is going on here? Twas the Fight Before Christmas

It's no secret that I am a Christmas idiot. When Halloween ends, I'm all about Christmas. I start planning to put up my tree, start my shopping, and plan my Thanksgiving Dinner so I can get it out of the way and concentrate on Christmas. Why do people hate Christmas Shoes so much?

Trials and Tribulations

I'll be wrapping up Trials and Tribulations with the next chapter.   Will there be more to come? In a word, yes. However, the time frame on that is up in the air. The big mistake I made with this story was not having it written before I started posting. I won't make that mistake again. eBook Review: No Flag by Liz Borino

No Flag by Liz Borino My rating: 4 of 5 stars   I tried to read this, stopped in a few pages, tried to read this, stopped in a few pages... Time - Where did it go?

Since Thanksgiving I have been on the run. I haven't been sleeping well or keeping up with much.   My father's surgery went well but he is still recovering and that goes slowly.   It seems the post office is playing hide the mail. One of my bills sent out over two weeks ago still hasn't arrived. I got a call today if the bill isn't paid by tomorrow I lose my insurance. Now I have to run there and pay it. Manicotti with Sausage & Spinach

Manicotti with Sausage & Spinach filling   The filling   1/2 pound of Italian sausage (bulk, for linked sausage, remove "case") 3/4 cup Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup of Parmesan Cheese 1/2 cup cooked spinich 1 egg   1) Brown sausage. It has to start somewhere.

Once in a while I believe that I have something worthwhile to say that doesn't quite fit in my profile feed or the forums. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen. But as everything needs to have a beginning, I will start by offering the beginning to a story that I am working on. It has no title so far and I don't think that it deserves a sneak peek forum entry just yet either. As the story progresses I will have more of an idea of what genre it belongs in and what tags to attache to it.
