    Upcoming Writing Events

    By Valkyrie

Stay tuned for this year's anthology - In too Deep!  While the team works behind the scenes to get everything ready for posting, I thought it would be a good idea to reveal what's next on the agenda.   The Prompt Team is excited to announce our first prompt team event, which will take place in November.  Be sure to check out Friday's blog for more information.  We will be honoring our beloved late friend Carlos Hazday by again featuring stories/poems/memories in his honor on Janu

Ask an Author 2.0 #36

G’day, y’all! Can you tell I’ve been writing something with an Aussie and a Southerner as the main characters? Who cares, right? After all, you’re here to read what other authors have to say. I’ll shut the heck up for now. ҉ ҉ ҉ Which author/poet (alive or dead) do you identify with most, and why?   ҉ ҉ ҉ @BDANR I'd say Essex Hemphill. His work moved me with its rawness, activism, and he elevated other marginalized, talented authors not seen as having a story

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 27 - Oct. 3)

Hopefully topped off with a bountiful harvest to carry through the winter. We have turkey, tons of veggies, mashed potatoes, gravy,

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept.21 - Sept.27)

Hello Folks! How are you all doing on this Sunday? I think it is Sunday everywhere but soon to be Monday in Australia and New Zealand. We do have quite a few members here that are from those two countries and I imagine others that are others just over the international date line too. So that gets me thinking  and that isn't a good thing. I remember this idea was first brought up to me in a Superman movie when I was a kid. What if you could fly faster than the speed of light, and you flew We

September Classic Author Excerpt: Palouse by Rec

Did you catch Monday's feature with the banner for Rec's story, Palouse? Check it out if you want to feature it in your signature. So I live in Washington, so I know how special this region of the state is, how scenic it can be... but just how few opportunities there can also be for anyone who is 'different'. Rec's story has all of that and more. I think you'll enjoy this excerpt as well.  Click here to read more
