Dolly had a true heart of gold, She will be remembered by people from all walks of life, for many special reasons, May you now RIP, you wonderful lady❣️

She lived by the mantra of do good for others.  She was judged by many as a simple blonde, but she was shrewd as a business leader, showing what could be done with fame and fortune.  Her generosity has and will continue to affect children for years to come through the reading program she founded and financed.

When I saw this, I was like, oh, a singer died. So what. 

Then I read a few of the comments, and I was confused by what I read. So I decided to do some research about her and why people cared that a singer died. 

Wow, her charitable works, her reading programs, her help during COVID, all the songs she wrote...she seemed like a pretty cool lady. 

Don't know if the world lost a musical talent; to each their own, but the world seemed to have lost a giving human who only seemed to want the best for everyone. 

I guess we could all be a bit more like Dolly after all. RIP you short wonderful woman.

@Jason Rimbaud I couldn’t agree more. Dolly gave so much to Appalachia and so much to the entire country. Her generosity, her spirit, and her love for people were unmatched.

They purchase books for kids in the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, and Ireland. Since we all are bound together on this site by our love of words, stories, and writing, I think it's worthy of everyone's consideration. Of the approximate 165,000 deaths that occurred today around the world, Tuesday, 25 August 2026. Dolly Parton was the only one to bring a tear to my eye. I knew her, her voice, her songs, of her life story. The world that I know, has lost a Good Samaritan(a helpful person who gives time, money, or effort to aid a stranger).

She often shared her belief that God did not plan for her to have biological children so that "everybody's kids could be mine".

Those things you found about Dolly Parton are why I'm sad she died. Not because of her music, I'm not a fan of country. Because of her as a person.

Dolly never forgot where she came from and saw her talent and well-earned wealth as a gift to be shared with others. She was naturally humbled by her fame and never gravitated toward entitlement or snobbery. She will be missed for her music for sure but I think that she will be missed for her beautiful character and integrity even more.
