So it's that time of year again Posted Image. Aside from the eats and drinks my favorite part about the holiday season is the music and movies. What's your favorite x-mas songs and movies ever?

LOCK, SHOCK, AND BARREL

Kidnap Mr. Sandy Claws

LOCK

I wanna do it

BARREL

Let's draw straws

SHOCK

Jack said we should work together

Three of a kind

LOCK, SHOCK, AND BARREL

Birds of a feather

Now and forever

Wheeee

La, la, la, la, la

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, lock him up real tight

Throw away the key and then

Turn off all the lights

SHOCK

First, we're going to set some bait

Inside a nasty trap and wait

When he comes a-sniffing we will

Snap the trap and close the gate

LOCK

Wait! I've got a better plan

To catch this big red lobster man

Let's pop him in a boiling pot

And when he's done we'll butter him up

LOCK, SHOCK, AND BARREL

Kidnap the Sandy Claws

Throw him in a box

Bury him for ninety years

Then see if he talks

SHOCK

Then Mr. Oogie Boogie Man

Can take the whole thing over then

He'll be so pleased, I do declare

That he will cook him rare

LOCK,SHOCK, AND BARREL

Wheeee

LOCK

I say that we take a cannon

Aim it at his door

And then knock three times

And when he answers

Sandy Claws will be no more

SHOCK

You're so stupid, think now

lf we blow him up to smithereens

We may lose some pieces

And then Jack will beat us black and green

LOCK,SHOCK, AND BARREL

Kidnap the Sandy Claws

Tie him in a bag

Throw him in the ocean

Then, see if he is sad

LOCK AND SHOCK

Because Mr. Oogie Boogie is the meanest guy around

If I were on his Boogie list, I'd get out of town

BARREL

He'll be so pleased by our success

That he'll reward us too, I bet

LOCK, SHOCK, AND BARREL

Perhaps he'll make his special brew

Of snake and spider stew

Ummm!

We're his little henchmen and

We take our job with pride

We do our best to please him

And stay on his good side

SHOCK

I wish my cohorts weren't so dumb

BARREL

I'm not the dumb one

LOCK

You're no fun

SHOCK

Shut up

LOCK

Make me

SHOCK

I've got something, listen now

This one is real good, you'll see

We'll send a present to his door

Upon there'll be a note to read

Now, in the box we'll wait and hide

Until his curiosity entices him to look inside

BARREL

And then we'll have him

One, two, three

LOCK, SHOCK, AND BARREL

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick

Lock him up for ninety years, see what makes him tick

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, chop him into bits

Mr. Oogie Boogie is sure to get his kicks

Kidnap the Sandy Claws, see what we will see

Lock him in a cage and then, throw away the key...

Favourite movie, hands down, is "A Christmas Carol", the one with Alastair Sim.

Too many songs to choose from - so I'll go with the artist, in this case artists, The Vienna Choir Boys. I have one of their cd's; I imagine they have put out several.

Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogleberd

Met my old lover in the grocery store
The snow was falling Christmas Eve
I stole behind her in the frozen foods
And I touched her on the sleeve
She didn't recognize the face at first
But then her eyes flew open wide
She went to hug me and she spilled her purse
And we laughed until we cried.
We took her groceries to the checkout stand
The food was totalled up and bagged
We stood there lost in our embarrassment
As the conversation dragged.
We went to have ourselves a drink or two
But couldn't find an open bar
We bought a six-pack at the liquor store
And we drank it in her car.
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.

She said she'd married her an architect
Who kept her warm and safe and dry
She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie.
I said the years had been a friend to her
And that her eyes were still as blue
But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw
Doubt or gratitude.
She said she saw me in the record stores
And that I must be doing well
I said the audience was heavenly
But the traveling was hell.
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another 'auld lang syne'...
The beer was empty and our tongues were tired
And running out of things to say
She gave a kiss to me as I got out
And I watched her drive away.
Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain --

How the Grinch Stole Christmas - The Cartoon version.

I dislike MOST Christmas songs, but... O Holy Night and How Great Thou Art are nice ones if they are sung by people that can really bring it...

Not really fond of The Christmas Story and pretty much all the classic movies but the clay-mations and the cartoons are good. I liked the Home Alone's and Santa Claus movies when I was a kid. My hubby loves Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and he has the kids watching it 3-4 times a season. That's enough to turn me into a Grinch. LOL

That movie is my dad's favourite one, let me say that I've seen it more than once growing up :P

"A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott and I like this song:

Blue Christmas is the best song for lonely romantics during Christmas.

Christmas songs.

There is one i can never find that I want....and I don't even know the name. About this girl who finds a bird and nurses it back to health but has nothing to give baby jesus (as is the custom in her town) on Christmas, so she ends up giving her friend the bird...

And she's crying then Jesus tells her to listen...

And the bird sings for the first time.

2. Santa I'm Right Here

there are a few others.

Mary did you know, for instance.

Movies:

The Polar Express (I just first watched it this year and love it more then any other I know)

The Santa Claus

there are a couple of others...

The most memorable Christmas song for me is Santa Never Made It Into Darwin. It was written, recorded and distributed in record time, with money raised going to the Darwin relief appeal. I can't even think of the song without tearing up.

The original Miracle on 34th Street is my favourite Christmas movie, but we watched Arthur Christmas and Rise of the Guardians yesterday and both were very enjoyable. I just don't think they'll keep the magic that was in the original Miracle on 34th Street.

For Christmas stories, i have to go with How the Grinch stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Watched them both as a child and now we watch them with our kid.

For Christmas songs: I like all Christmas carols and on the pop side i love Christmas By Myself This Year by the Waitresses, though Fairytale of New York is a close second

I loved A Charlie Brown Christmas when I was young. But then I saw this on youtube this morning... it kind of ruined my whole childhood. <.<;

For favorite song... I'd have to go with the swedish Betlehems Stjärna

How come I can't post media files now? >.<; *Lights the AJ signal*

Wow, Schroeder's such a bottom boy :P

Poor Snoopy, I hope woodstock is buried next to him, they were good for each other.

They should make an adult version of the Peanuts, but they better keep snoopy.

This is my grandmother's favorite christmas song, i remember being a child in her kitchen learning to cook with her and she'd sing this and so many more in a voice that just sent shivers down your soul.
