I know why!!!!! Because he likes Seth!!!! YAY!!!!

I think it's more likely that it's all this talk about the guy kissing him getting it on with his grandma that's keeping him from being turned on.

Stepping back into reality(well, as much as one can when talking about fictional characters), it's because he's created a mental block preventing him from enjoying Luke as he is meant to. That will go away when he and Seth agree they're better off friends.

WHAT DO WE WANT? LRITE! WHEN DO WE WANT IT? sometime in the near future.

They're teenagers, and teenagers tend to fall both into and out of love rather easily. Rory especially, it would seem. I mean, come on ... he's barely known Aaron for one day and already he decided that he likes him. He's barely broken up with Aaron and already he thinks that he likes Seth. Methinks someone like him would need to date a number of people before actually settling down for someone (namely Luke XDDDDD;). And while Rory is indeed both attracted to Seth and likes him to at least a certain extent, I'm really not getting the impression that it's anything particularely deep. Rory seems nervous about making any moves more because he's afraid of rejection in general than because it's Seth, and whatever physical scenes there have been between them always appeared to be focused mostly on just that, the physical, and to lack any real intimacy. Luke, on the other hand, Rory clicked with right from the very beginning, and their relationship is much more intimate, open and comfortable despite the lack of a physical side to it. For one thing, all of those scenes with them leaning against each other's shoulders seemed more ... meaningful? ... to me than this kiss scene >.>;. The way I see it, the only reason that he's kept away from Luke (both mentally and physically) so far is the whole almost-family deal. Which is so not a good enough reason u_u. 'Cuz, like, they're not. Related, I mean.

So dammit, I am not giving up on Luke and Rory @_@! Ever! Even if things are going nicely enough for Rory and Seth at the moment x_x. [decisive nod]

Well, I wouldn't want to date a guy that I knew for sure was scheming on my grandma either

Neither would I. We can only hope that Rory never stumbles upon these forums. Your brilliant predictions would shock him to the core.

you are correct sir--i've found it very difficult to type sarcastically

Well personally if I mean something sarcastically I usually put a " :P " or " :boy: " at the end of it to tip everyone off......It's kinda like a laugh track in some regards.

Sorry to all the members of LRITE, I just don't see anything happening there.

Here's

Andy (heck of a first post, lol)

My gosh, I don't read the forums for a couple of days and everyone rushes off and forms new camps complete with flags and pins......So is there some sort of "no man's land" I have to crawl through under cover of darkness to get to the LRITE camp, or can I just wait for the RSFS camp takes a break for monopoly and pretzels?

Anyway, Welcome Andy, and thanks very much for posting that. Dom must have posted it before I started reading his blog. That's VERY interesting, especially since Owen/Aiden are pretty much one of my favorite couples of all time, scary to think it could have never been at all.

Oh, one last thing. Dom has an excellent ear for dialog. If you read much on Nifty, you know what I mean. One thing that escapes many writers is dialog. Elecivil, Brew, Christopher Patrick Lydon and a few others also have that gift, but it isn't easy, and bad dialog will kill a good plot line.

YUP you're right, bad dialogue can be a death sentence for a story, though it can be kinda amusing too. I love the way Dom writes! Not just dialogue, but especially the stuff going on inside the protagonist's head. :2thumbs:

:o Good find Andy. I forgot that Dom had BLOGed that. I may have to pull some chips off the table :( .

Also, when I tried to read the last couple of chapters objective 0:) , there are some things that Seth has said that makes me question whether he is a mental bottom or not. While painfully shy, Seth does show instances of when he 'takes charge'.

NOOO don't let the RSFS lead you astray, Vic! LOL and all bets are final in this casino! :P

Have y'all read Gone With The Wind? It took Scarlett an awful lotta pages to realize that Rhett was the one she really loved. By then, it was too late. I hope Rory and Luke don't fall into the same trap. Like Rhett, Luke is trying to hold back and let Rory come to him. I believe that his reticence is due to their 'family' circumstances...it would be very uncool to make a pass at Rory and find he wasn't interested. But, give me a break, Rory. The cutest, hotest guy in your life (that would be Luke) leaned over and gave you a big wet one on the smacker ("I could taste where he had just licked his lips...") and you don't get it?! Does your pecker work? At this point, I am not sure he is worthy of Luke..... (Oh, I'll get flamed for that one....)

LOL I never thought Rory deserved Luke, I just want him to end up with Luke....actually I don't even know if I think he deserves Seth. It's not that I dislike him, I just don't see whatever it is the other guys all seem to see.

That Gone With The Wind idea is amusing. I can just see the dramatic final scene

Luke to Rory: "Quite frankly, Rory, I don't give a damn!"

Though actually it would probably work better if it were Aaron who finally realized he had true, deep feelings for Luke.

Luke to Aaron: "Quite frankly, Aaron, I don't give a damn!"

Heck it could become a nice little household tagline for Luke:

Jase: "What do you want for dinner, Luke?"

Luke: "Quite frankly, Jase, I don't give a damn!......I had a big lunch." :boy::P

I used to be in the Rory/Luke camp but as the Rory/Seth relationship developed I sort of liked that pairing. After this last chapter and thinking about it what concerns me more now is that Seth doesn't get hurt in all of this. Interesting.

What Rory really needs right now is all the family he can get. He has always believed that the only family he ever needed was his mom and grandmom. He has pretty much lost all the family he has within a short period of time. His mom to cancer and Alice to stubborness. He has never had a positive male role model in his life. Being around Eddie and Jase is the best thing for Rory as a gay adolescent. Also, having the best friend/brother relationship with Luke is good for him. He definitely wasn't as close to any of his friends from back home. The only person that Rory really opened up to was his mom and that led to a very sheltered emotional life for Rory. In the beginning of the story he did not know how to act around new people. He was closed off to having any type of bond with anyone. Partly that could be because he didn't want to form a bond with anyone and then lose them. I think that mostly his actions show that he felt that forming any type of family with anyone outside of his mom or Alice would be an insult to the memory of his mom's life. Clearly, Rory will never get as close to anyone else as he was to his mom, but he needed to learn that he needs the support of others. I'm glad he is finally learning that lesson. To me that is more important to this story than who he will end up with ::coughSethcough:: B)

Andy

PS: thanks for the welcome everyone :2thumbs:

Maybe Rory just really needs to get laid, and deal with the romantic stuff later when things are more stable in his life ... **shrug**

You could be right...maybe he just needs to bone a few times a day with whoever for a while and not be commited to anyone. That would be a good way for Dom to end the story :)

What I'm seeing is that when Rory first met Luke, he had the notion that Luke was his cousin and therefore off limits. Yes, he admitted to himself that Luke was hot and he was attracted to him, but since they were 'cousins', Rory placed Luke in an unattainable category and settled for friendship instead.

After the conceived notion that Luke was his cousin was gone, Rory still conceptualized Luke as an unobtainable figure and had grown so comfortable in their friendship that the thought that Luke might become something more is inconceivable. It

Good observations Adit!!! I did however had to chuckle at your line below:

It seems that Rory is trying to compensate for his years of hiding by jumping into relationships with the first boys that bat an eyelash in his direction (Luke not included, see above...

Years of hiding? :lol::lol::lol:

We are talking about a 16yo :P

Take Care

Im glad to see Rory getting around and doing what he wants with who he wants......what's so bad about that??? Besides, who says that being with 2 guys is whoring....personally, I'd like to see a scene where Rory hooks up with a few guys in one night at one time....that would rule!!!!

Maybe we should lobby for RGWALSJATST (Rory Gets With Aaron, Luke, Seth, and Jase At The Same Time) and give up our silly ideas of monogomous relationships.

I think we could then definitvely say that he's whoring himself around

You forgot about Eddie...also, I dont think Luke and Rory will ever do it, so I'd take him off the list

A chapter where Rory goes out and hooks up with some shady guy for a one-night stand, gets his brains f**ked out, ends up with an STD (something cureable, like the clap), and then needs Eddie to take him to the doctor to get it taken care of ... now that would be interesting ... a VERY good lesson for Rory, good opportunity for Rory and Eddie to have a good father-son chat, as well as a good subliminal message to the younger readers who might be tempted to go out and do the same thing (Dom mentioned recently in his blog whether or not the "condom" or "no condom" issue was setting a bad example for young readers). I don't think I've read an gay internet story yet where this has come up. Or at least he could get mono or something from kissing Seth ......
