It's time for Hot Cross buns! Amazon has still been unable to deliver the crumpet rings I ordered, but they say they are on the way. I don't know. Anyway, I'll get some at some point. For today, remember: Are the chickpeas for the buns? I know you can like, make flour from them. 4

No, I will soak the chickpeas, cook them, and freeze them. I use them in curry and chilli. We got more because I used the last of them last night for curry. Doing them myself means I don't have to buy cans; they're just as convenient and have no salt or preservatives. I freeze them in one—or two-cup amounts. 1 5

Can make flour from lots of things. Have made my own potato flour. Read the other day about zucchini flour being used to reduce white flour use in recipes. Rice flour makes nice noodles. Possibilities are endless when your kitchen has both a dehydrator and a food processor. 4 2

Possibilities are endless when your kitchen has both a dehydrator and a food processor. The baker i follow on YouTube grinds his own whole wheat flour and has this great little electric mill. I also saw that you can get an attachment for your Kitchenaid stand mixer, which I am lucky enough to have. It was about $100. However, the flour i buy has been working fine. I have no plans to start grinding my own. Michael just gave me a look when i told Him about it. "No boy," .. so that's that. LOL I have to get going soon. I have things to do, including my monthly visit to the shrink. I hope everyone has a good day! 2 5 2

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 28 Author Popular Post Posted March 28 Been a good day so far.. Shrink is happy with me. The crumpet rings finally got here, and I made these. It's not nearly perfect, and i miss my convection oven, which helps to brown things. i need practice making the crosses.. but they smell nice.. lol Can't wait to try them. They are made with lemon and orange candied peel, golden and dark raisins, spices and a little splenda brown sugar. 10
Popular Post drown Posted March 28 Popular Post Posted March 28 I'll grace you with my omelette, too. It started with the idea of making an omelette, but then I went overboard with the veggies and tomato (it's a FRUIT) so it looks rather ridiculous. But so tasty! There's also some cheddar. 8

Good thing he froze a bunch of them. I'd recommend making these if you like hot cross buns. Or get yourself a tim. 2 3 2

One guy i listen to said to try and look toward the sun.. not at it, of course, but in its direction for about five minutes. Worth a shot and cheaper than drugs! 3
drown Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I wish everyone a happy Easter weekend (if that is something you celebrate). I will be visiting my dad. 4

Easter began as a Pagan celebration of spring, the Christians took it over and made it a religious Holiday. So i think you can celebrate it as you please. If it's to enjoy the Chocolate and time to spend with family, then enjoy all of that! Have a great weekend everyone! 4

kbois Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Well... 99% of our stuff is moved. Just a few odds and ends left to get tomorrow when we go back and clean. Every part of my body aches. I'm getting too old for this crap. Now it's going to be living in chaos until we get everything organized. Although once the kitchen is done then most of the mess will be taken care of. 5
