Secret Author Stories-Discussion Here!!

A question: can an author review their own story as part of the deceit? If the answer is “yes” then I am 100% certain of one author. If the answer is “no” then I’m crying in a pool of tears of frustration.  Help, please 🙏

Authors can post on their own content. They can post on others content because they didn't write a story. They can lie and say they didn't participate. They can be telling the truth and really didn't participate. I won't be telling!! 😇

I totally love that the theme is Reveal the Truth and we do everything possible to obfuscate it in the guessing process

I would think reviewing your own story would be a bit much. But I guess if we allow lying in the comments and discussion thread, it’s just an extension of those.

But if the reviews stay after the authors are revealed it would look a bit odd if I had reviewed my own work, if you follow me.

I’m not a pathological liar... but if I were, I’d tell you that I am. Which means I can’t tell you the truth because then I’d have to lie about it. And if I’m being honest, I’d say that’s classified information.

Then again, that could be another lie.

Although honestly, I’m too good at lying to ever admit I tell the truth.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is... I can’t even remember what I was saying in the first place.

For last years Secret Author contest,  I totally commented on my own story.  I encourage others to do the same.

Who me? I’m not that good. Or am I?

I will say one thing about this event though, this exposes people to authors they may have not read from yet. I can’t wait to see the list of people who did participate because quite a few of these stories made me emotional. I really want to know whose work I’ve really been missing out on.

So if I did participate this would be my first event doing so, and if I didn’t I feel like a fool for not doing so.

Maybe I’ll give the Anthology a swing.  The story I want to write for it though would easily blow through that word limit because sometimes my imagination is a little much.

Have you been stalking my story comments? Because that's totally what I'd do (and probably did) if I were to hypothetically be involved in this event.  Of course I could have just did that to throw people off because my stance on participation is clear, it could lead to a universe ended event.
