This is Part 2 of a 2 part story.

Whether you follow war, like war, read about war or are interested in war it is sadly a fact of life, but can make fascinating reading. The war in Afghanistan is still in play even as I write this in 2021. The country has been through many wars but ‘Him in the dust’ is a point in history (2005-2006) where I decided to start the book that you will read.

Trevor Carlson is making his way through graduate school. He’s the best friend and beta to the most powerful wolves known to exist. Rather than be swallowed by the shadows of his friend’s success, Trevor’s shown time and again he’s a confident and powerful force who can stand on his own. A summer internship working at his friends pack in California broadens his horizons and reminds him not all education takes place in the classroom.

Coming out to his entire 50th reunion high school class was oddly facilitated by his high school girl friend.

Dillon and his family move to Gretna, Nebraska. It seems relatively normal and not as rural as he thought. He meets Mark, and they become close friends, both trying to figure out their feelings.

Seth is used to covering his ears, trying not to hear his parents drunken fighting. At an early age he promised himself that he would do whatever it took to make his partner happy. Old Hollywood films were his escape where everything ended with a kiss. James was always the comedian in his class, ever since Kindergarten he knew how to get a laugh. This was him, he would always be that way or so he thought. Everything changed during his junior year in high school, when his brother took his life.

Twelve-year-old Carlos suspects today is not going to be good. A boy from the spokes is coming to live with his family and Carlos has to give up the bottom bunk. Stefan has read all about living rim-ward, so he knows a little about what will occur in the perpetual summer of living on a farm along the rim. He’d like to know more but the source of that information is napping next to him. Both boys do not know their lives are going to dramatically change within the hour.

Garret is a 18 year old senior at high school, an amazing student with good grates and is fairly popular because of his looks but he is left with a trauma that makes him act cold towards everyone.
Starting his year as a Senior he is confronted with the cause of his trauma, how will this end out for Garret and the persons involved in his life?

The Tree is a local fixture in the rural town of Morton. When it starts to die, the whole town rallies around to try to save it.

Tyson, the son of a heartless politician and an abusive control freak, has survived four suicide attempts, and has now been committed to a psychiatric ward. With severe anger issues, unhealthy behaviours and a tendency to self-harm, Tyson's terrific treatment team fights a difficult battle. Another boy in the ward, Vladimir, suffers from schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress. Tyson thinks he's perfect.
