Thorny Poetry - 10. Pretty

 i understand it in my own way, i would not want to be called pretty either.  You are not wanting to be seen that way right now, or maybe never again,  so i get it.

I’m not really comfortable with compliments on my appearance at the best of times. I’ve tried to tell him that before... but I don’t think he gets it. I get taken off guard when it just comes out of nowhere like that. But pretty is particularly unpleasant at the moment. Told him so last night. Complimenting me makes him happy, so...

I like this and feel the same was about being called that. As tim said, I understand it.

Hehe I see what you do there with the “Pretty Please.”  That was like the bow that tied the pretty knot of this pretty present. Me personally I like being called pretty or beautiful. I like it 💎😉

I don’t mind being complimented, I just don’t like being called pretty. Other words are fine... Thank you for commenting.
