Thorny Poetry - 34. To a Friend

i like saying good morning

when it’s mid-afternoon

i like knowing what you’re thinking

and all the things you do

i like our silly banter

and all our play with words

i like it when you share with me

the cool song you just heard

i like hearing all about your day

and reading what you wrote

i like sharing your music

every single note

i like it when you’re bossy

cause i need that some days

and i like the way you call me brat

when i won’t behave

i like reading your stories

when i know it’s bedtime soon

and i like the way you say goodnight

though it’s mid-afternoon

Timezones are tricky things...
