Tribute to a Lady

My aunt recently passed away. She's been fighitng breast cancer for almost five years, and we've had a few close calls this last year, but she finally asked to go home the week before christmas. I was working, and wasn't able to break away until Thursday of that week. She died that Wednesday.   She was my mom's little sister and best friend. Back on the Chain Gang

I started my second semester of grad school this week. The workload is pretty intimidating, but I think I got it down by this point. I hope, anyway.   One thing that struck me is how much more relaxed I feel as opposed to that first week of grad school. Everything- god I just felt like I couldn't breate. I spent the night before my first classes that semester reading the reflections of a woman who dropped out of her PhD program. I was positive that I would flunk out. And I did pretty well.

Everybody's Wounded

Reading Dawn of Tears

I've read 28 chapters of Dawn of Tears and so far I've loved it as much as I've loved the first Do Over novel.   Although I really would have liked the specifics to be a little more consistent along the storyline, from simple things like calling Dylan's jet first a 797 and then a 787 to more important details along the plot, I really would had a better time reading if the story text was better edited and reviewed.   I wonder if people could help Dan edit these stories and republish them?

Happy Martin Luther King Day!

Holy Shit - [My week is up]

OMG- that is the best way to describe how I feel, I don't think I was ever this sure it was going to work as I am today. The emails from the Dr. were just shy of gushing. Not to say he didn't do this all the time, cause I don't know what he tells others, but this was the most excited he has been since we've been working with him.   To recap, the egg donation went much better than expected. College Football Blues and Golds

University of Delaware lost the Division I title game last night at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. We gave up a second-half 19 point lead for Eastern Washington to come back with 20 points.   I'm pretty bummed. It would have been great to see UD get a championship. On the bright side, it was great to see the Blue Hens there, and it WAS a great season for UD. But since our quarterback is a senior, it looks like next year's going to be a rebuilding year.

One week - or better said - holy shit!

The emails, calls, text message, and anxiety attacks are coming with increasing frequency the last two days. Today was the third and last ultra sound for the surrogate. According to the doctor, the surrogate, let me call her Eve at this point - surrogate is so impersonal - Eve, has 18 follicles - which in layman's terms mean she has 18 eggs developing. Status Update

Four hundred characters is too few for the update I want to make so I'm going to post it here.   As many might know/remember, Mike and I are trying to have a child(ren). We tried traditionally surrogacy - commonly referred to in technical medical circles as the 'turkey baster method,' but after 3 attempts that proved unsuccessful.
