Covid came to my nursing home. 37 residents positive, 7 of whom are already dead. More than 20 staff, one of whom is in ICU I'm tired. Ah, Starry ... I'm sorry. I'm tired and I can do most of my work at home, only venturing out here and there to handle things in person that can't be done over Zoom. Thank you. Thank you for working, trying, caring. Thank you for getting up, for going to work, for delivering care and love where it's needed most. Thank you. 6

rickproehl Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 DiC friends. Just wanting to Check in and say Good Morning i was sent this and thought would be good to share. Just a thought: Eight Gifts That Don't Cost A Cent! ~THE GIFT OF LISTENING~ But, you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening. ~THE GIFT OF AFFECTION~ Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends. ~THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER~ Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you." ~THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE~ It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note, or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life. ~THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT~ A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job," or "That was a wonderful meal", can make someone's day. ~THE GIFT OF A FAVOR~ Every day, go out of your way to do something kind. ~THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE~ There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others. ~THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION~ The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, "Hello" or "Thank You." And Don't Forget ~~ LOVE is A Gift We Can Give Every Day!!! Have a Good Day 3

If you consider not losing my shit completely after my husband told me his boss wanted to know if he wanted to use vacation or sick time for the two days (so far) that he's missed because THIER truck broke down and THEY were not able to provide a replacement. W.T.F??? He finally got a replacement truck this afternoon. They TOWED it up from South Florida. It's filthy and makes weird noises. I have no words. I think now that I'm home I'll chill out, read a little and then pass along some peaceful thoughts and well wishes for those who need them. Thanks for reminding me that giving can do wonders to bring calmness. I hope everyone enjoys their evening. Edited December 16, 2020 by kbois 4

Its the confusion created when the mind over rides the body's basic desire to strangle the shit out of some asshole that desperately needs it. 4

Popular Post kbois Posted December 16, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 16, 2020 Please remember that cars ENTERING a rotary/roundabout/traffic circle (whatever you call it) MUST YIELD to traffic within the circle. (It's the law) Failure to do so will cause your bright shiny new Porsche to possibly hit my slightly worn out, tired 12 year old Mercury that is already within the circle, having yielded upon my entrance. Chain reaction will cause me to slam on my brakes and luckily avoid hitting you as you cut me off. Not nice words may or may not have flown out from my vocal cords. Yes, I saw you flip me off. Thank your lucky stars it was raining because at the red light that we both stopped at I was sorely tempted to get out of my car and possibly do something rash like drag your punk ass out of the vehicle and throat punch you. This has been a friendly Public Service Announcement.🙄 P.S. My shower is fixed and I now have decent water pressure! 1 7

Hopefully it will be an encounter with a not so nice policeman who's had a crappy day and is in the mood to write out expensive citations. That's great news about the shower!
