Well it looks like I'm flying solo at the office today. My boss texted me (at 3:00am and it's one of the few numbers I exclude from dnd). She was in the ER with her son until 2am. She was on her way home from work when he called her and said his heart was racing and he didn't feel right. She told him to call 911. 

After running a bunch of tests they discovered that tiny pieces of metal (yes, METAL) from his vape juice had gone from his lungs into his bloodstream and ended up in his heart. 

So a 24 year old kid got to experience a mild heart attack. Young. Fit. Healthy. 

Heart attack. 

PLEASE....if you vape STOP! If some you know does, beg them to stop! Smoking too. Yes, it's hard. I  get it. I  smoked when I was in college. Haven't touched a cigarette it over 25 years, and really don't ever want to. 

Her son is OK. He's home and I'm pretty sure my boss has already destroyed his vape stuff. 

I'm really glad he's ok.

This is just so sad. Long before Covid 19 hit, I was reading about kids getting lung problems from vaping.  I'll echo what @kbois said-- If you vape or smoke, PLEASE QUIT!!!  

I smoked for 40 years and quit 4 years ago. Quitting was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I felt like pure crap for almost a month. One of my motivators to stay quit is that I don't ever want to feel that way again.

If you smoke or vape, please quit NOW!

i smoked when i was on the street ... cigarettes and roll-able and injectable things for a number of years. Got off of all of it. 

i do miss all of them even now sometimes. i have not considered vaping ... one because Michael would likely kill me and the other reason is that honestly it looks stupid. You cannot look cool with that thing shoved in your face. Just don't.

This is not the first time i've heard of people having near death issues with vaping.

i do understand why people take drugs or drink ... i do because i lived it. it takes you away from the reality for a short time.  But it fixes nothing, does not make you feel better in the long run. They make you feel stronger for a few minutes but leave you vulnerable to others. You make stupid choices because in that moment you are stupid. And sometimes you end up with a death sentence from things like HIV, an overdose, a heart attack at 24.

If you do any of these things, or if you need mental health assistance, get help.  There is strength in numbers ... tell someone, ask for help.

It is not easy to open yourself up, it isn't.  But there is a better life out there if you want it.

Okay.. i have rambled on long enough, but what i say is true.

Now ... my cocktail of lifesaving and mood altering meds are on the counter waiting for me ....

I too love cheesecake and naps get warm and comfy then turn the fan on full blast and sleep.....lol

Tonight is one of those nights that I wish I had the poetry writing skills of @Mikiesboy. The skies were absolutely stunning when I took the dogs for a walk. The sky to the west was a beautiful azure blue streaked with gold. The underside of the clouds were lit up in pink and red.

The Eastern sky was filled with thunderclouds clouds highlighted in grays, blues, pinks, oranges and purples. Lightning occasionally adding to the beauty. I should've brought my phone but it's hard to take pictures while holding 2 dogs. 

It was worth dealing with the heat and humidity. Nothing a nice cool shower can't take care of!
