Just wanting to say good afternoon. myself i have been working extra hours. things going good for everyone? How has your day been? Don't work too hard rick. Myself? Well I had my year end review today at work. I apparently "exceed expectations" in all categories and got 44/44 evaluation points. I asked my boss if that meant I'd get a 44% raise. At least I made her laugh! Have a good evening everyone. 6

kbois Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 @Sherye Your painted rocks are cute. The Nemo one reminds me of my oldest son. For his 5th birthday we had a small party (maybe 10 kids) at the theater and Nemo was the movie we saw. I used to make my kid's birthday cakes and I drew Nemo on his that year. I remember thinking it was weird that one fin was tiny. After we saw the movie I knew why. It's still the best kid's movie ever. 4

Seems a lot of doctors ( other one on one providers too) have this notion. I have my own business and until recently ran a second for the barn owner where my boys live. Sitting in a waiting room twiddling my thumbs represents that much earlier I must start work or later I must stay to complete today's tasks. Horses simply cannot wait two or three hours by the time I tack on travel home, shower, waste time at the office then return to the farm. I growled at my chiropractor once. Now I either get taken in within minutes or get a call rescheduling if the are behind. Now if only I could convince the rest of them... 6

Your horses are probably more capable of being trained than the staff at that office. It's a tough order to try and "train" people in respect and courtesy. Either they have it or they don't. A good while back at my regular doctors office, I was waiting when a lady came in asking to see the doctor. She had fallen and hit the back of her head and there was a good deal of blood present. When she turned away from the receptionist, the receptionist saw what had happened and jumped up and came running to the waiting room. They got the lady into the back and then a few minutes later, the nurse came out to apologize to me about the wait. I told her that there was no apology needed and to go help the lady. A few minutes after that, my doctor passed by and waved at me and mouthed "I'm sorry for the delay." When I did get back everyone kept apologizing for making me wait and I kept telling them that it was OK and they didn't need to apologize because the lady needed their immediate help and I was fine. That's the difference right there. It couldn't be more clear. My regular doctor and his staff are amazing and I'm lucky to have found them. That's the level of treatment and respect that everyone deserves. Edited November 17, 2020 by spyke 4
Popular Post Fae Briona Posted November 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 17, 2020 Ok... I don't want to get political and if this crosses a line I apologize. At the end of the day today at work, one of our female instructors called the Front Office -- she was fine until she started to relay the story, then the potential severity of it hit her and she started to fall apart. On her way to class, she ran across an older "non-traditional" student who wasn't wearing a mask. She started in on the the standard, University approved spiel on the nead to wear one. Grown ass dude went off on her and started shouting at her -- and followed her into her classroom. She was there early to set up the tech, and thankfully our computer tech was already in the room. Really p****** the rest of us off. She'll be asking for a police escort tomorrow. 2 4

Welp...both he and his wife came down with Covid and luckily they both made it. But.....now he wears a mask faithfully and has said that he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. Two months later and he's still exhausted all the time. Some people insist on learning the hard way. I'm already gearing up for drama this weekend when I tell my brother that I'm picking Mom up Wednesday night and keeping her through the weekend. My idiot sister in law is still planning on Thanksgiving dinner for about 20 people. Her side of the family is Florida redneck cracker through and through. I'm not sure how many of them even know what a mask is. I don't think my almost 90yr old mother needs to be around that. Arrghhh. 6
Sherye Story Reader Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 My sister and I are going to my brother's house this year for Thanksgiving and we all wear masks. It will be good to spend a day with my brother for a change on a holiday instead of my nephew's in laws. I love his in laws and they think of me as family but I very seldom see my brother. 3 2
