Ok...  I don't want to get political and if this crosses a line I apologize.

At the end of the day today at work, one of our female instructors called the Front Office -- she was fine until she started to relay the story, then the potential severity of it hit her and she started to fall apart.  On her way to class, she ran across an older "non-traditional" student who wasn't wearing a mask. She started in on the the standard, University approved spiel on the nead to wear one.  Grown ass dude went off on her and started shouting at her -- and followed her into her classroom. She was there early to set up the tech, and thankfully our computer tech was already in the room.  Really p****** the rest of us off.  She'll be asking for a police escort tomorrow.

She should have called the police if this guy threatened her.

Snowing here and some on the ground from last night ... have a good day all.

We had our first flakes yesterday too. Was raining when we noticed some of the drops hitting the windshield were noticeably thick. The real trip is when I checked the weather app on my phone to see just how cold it was, the claim was 45*f (about 8*c) and sunny!

I decided to wear my new boots today. It was 58F (14C) when we left the house this morning. Almost needed a jacket too. 😊

It still cracks me up after 12 years in Florida when you see the natives bundled up like they're at the North Pole whenever the temp drops below 60.

You have a good day too tim! That goes for the rest of you too!

She'd thought about that, but in the moment she thought it was overkill -- it was only after it was over she realized how quickly it could have escalated.

Does the university have a policy on mask wearing? If so, then they should be handling this. I'm of the opinion that masks aren't a political statement and the right to personal freedom ends when my right to life is put at risk through no fault of my own.

Never if you're lucky. I hate winter and snow

We have the best snow in the south!  Everything shuts down and then it's usually gone in 2-3 days, so no need to shovel. Now ice is a different story.  That said, it is more likely than not that we'll be running the A/C at Christmas.

I'm far enough south that I'm probably never going to see a flake, which suits me fine. Ice scares me. I slipped and dislocated my shoulder and that was when I was in my 20s and rehabbed pretty quick. I hate to think of slipping now, I'd end up laid up for months.

We usually have the ac going in Dec too. It only gets shut off for a few days each winter if we get a cold snap and the day temps don't get above the 50s.

Never slipped and fell while dislocating my shoulder, but have dislocated my shoulder a number of ways since I was a child. The first time was in grade school when I needed a pencil cause I forgot mine at home and someone was handing me one that was behind me and I reached my arm backwards like normally and pop, out it goes. The teacher freaked out and helped me go to the school nurse, but it popped back in before we got there. I turned over in bed one time and it popped out and by the time my sister got me up off the bed while my mom was freaking out that I was going into shock since it had been awhile that I could get out of bed and she told my sister that she needed to take me to the doctor and when she helped me in the wheelchair and I sat down then it popped back in. Then one time I was reaching in my shoulder purse for my bus ticket to come home and it popped out ut this time I had to ride in a ambulance to a hospital and the doctor had to pop it back in and that was the only time a doctor had to pop it back in. I have popped it out of place several times when my husband before he died had to pop it back into place. I actually popped it out when putting a pull over shirt on and I jerked back on the bed and it popped back in. I also was getting in the car one time and was going to the bank to meet my dad to cosign for a loan and I popped my shoulder out. No one could get me out of the car, not even my stepmom who was a nurse. So my mom called my sister at work and she came and got a pillow and put in under my shoulder to support it and while she helped me turn my body around with the help of someone else and then she pushed on my lower back to scoot me out of the car. It popped back in before I made it to the doctor but had to go cause of my job I do. You know it is hard to work the broiler putting buns and patties into the broiler at Burger King with one arm while the other arm was in a sling. I got really fast until I got to take it off and they would not train me on anything else for a whole year cause I was that good on the broiler during the busy times.

I don't go out in ice at all for the same reason that I don't get on a motorcycle; bones break easier at my age and then surgery is usually involved. Our biggest headache with ice is loosing power.

Oh and @Sherye,  OUCH, OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!!!  Just reading that made me hurt!  LOL

That's my excuse for refusing to ride the stupid horses that need to be taught manners anymore.

My dogs have pulled me down 3x in the past 5 years and I was lucky each time. I really don't want to test my luck a 4th time. I used to walk them after dark, but now go at sunset. There are 2 houses that don't ever clean off their sidewalk and I've nearly fallen a few times. Idiots must not know how to use a broom.

My 11 year old female border collie was laying on the sofa and was cleaning herself awhile ago when she tumbled off and hit the floor, even though she doesn't seem to be hurt. The only thing that bothered me was she fell on her back. It scared the bee geebs out of me! But she looked at me when she got up and it seemed like she thought I did it to her!

Animal embarrassment.  They will try to blame you for things like that.  Cats are notorious for giving that look.

our Border Collie looks embarrassed & accusatory when she passes gas. She'll get up, or roll over, look around as if to say "Who did THAT?"

Our little dog just gets up and walks away with a "deal with it" attitude. Big dog looks at his butt like it's an alien and there's nooooo way it could've been him. If I say his name he goes and hides in the closet. Lovable morons. 😂

They have one -- it was the Universities boilerplate spiel on masks she was giving when the person went off.

We received worse news this morning:  the husband of one of our PhD Candidates passed earlier this week from complications related to COVID; they have a 12-year old daughter.  😢

When I was younger my mom had a small poodle mix that would get embarrassed.  The groomer gave her a traditional poodle cut at one time (though that was NOT what my mom asked for) and when my older brother laughed at her she slunked under the couch and wouldn't come back out. She'd do the same thing if she passed gas -- she'd look at you, trying to pass blame, and if you said, "that was you" she'd sniff her behind and hide.

So, I wore my new boots today (did I mention they're really cute and totally nonfunctional? They might get me thru a light dusting of snow if I ever venture up north in the winter). My feet did ok considering I very rarely put socks on. But still, it felt really gooooood to kick them and the socks off when I got home. My toes may or may not have called me a bitch for cooping them up all day and were quite happy to slide back into my flip flops to walk the dogs.

Have a good evening everybody!
