Popular Post kbois Posted February 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 10, 2021 I was going to refrain from commenting on my new job until the end of the week, but you know how my life goes..... I knew what I was getting into and came into this with my eyes wide open. I was warned. Thoroughly. I just hoped I'd have more than two days before I had to deal with utter bullshit. Let me just preface everything by saying that security is a high priority with everyone. There is a resident who volunteered to patrol the community at night in a golf cart provided by the HOA. He has managed to become a 'security nazi' in less than a week. He's scared a resident while 'patrolling' along the fence line and not identifying himself and he's brought me a laundry list of flaws within the park (most of which I had already addressed with the actual HOA when I met with them). I've had daily updates 🙄. Today was the straw that broke the damn camel's back. He asked me this morning if we vetted all of the contractors who came into the park. *Sigh* If I did that I'd have no time for anything else. I told him that when a resident hires a contractor to do anything to their home it is their responsibility to make sure that contractor is licensed and insured. I take care of of contractors who we hire. This dude took it upon himself to call the county Code Enforcement and sic them on a contractor who is working on someone's house. I know this contractor, we spent 2 years building a relationship with him and this idiot just undermined that in one day. 🤬 I now look forward to shutting this guy down. If need be I'll have upper management ban him from acting as 'security'. We will hire a security firm in a heartbeat and when their site fees get jacked up next year I'll tell every single person that complains to call George. Urgh! On a lighter and happier note I came home and my son was in his room jamming to AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell' on an old snare drum he dragged out of the black hole that is his closet. That segues into Fleetwood Mac and U2. I cracked up! Hope everyone has a good evening! @mollyhousemouse...I now get emails that require me to: "acknowledge you received this email, you've read this email and you understand this email" 🤦♀️ 4 2

Who thought that was a good idea? There are a few examples throughout history, showing what happens when you give some people too much power. Hope you are all okay ... hang in there. 6

Always a pleasure. Every Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday by skype. i hate them. they give them cute names like Bullseye .. they are bull..something. The boss goes over things we've been sent on our internal info page or email. i'm not sure why only one or two of us ever read these things. in the meeting yesterday one person asked about a problem with wire transfers, saying: there's nothing about this on that page. Mmmm, yes there was ... twice. Once in Dec and then in January. sigh On a happier note ... It is Thursday ... and Monday is a Holiday. Sunday is Valentines Day (and work) ... but Monday.. is a HOLIDAY!! 1 5

We're going to get hit this weekend, Sunday night into Monday morning. Dry light fluffy snow -- 10" to 15" of it here, more in the NW part of the state. Old record for days below freezing was 13 and we'll probably break it. Don't remember when that was but the last 11-day record was in 1983, so before that. 5 1
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted February 11, 2021 Site Moderator Posted February 11, 2021 Good morning all... This morning I learned how to deactivate the car alarm. Trial by fire as it were, because I hadn’t read that section of the manual. Oh, and it was me who set it off just sitting in the car. Still have no idea what I hit to make it go off. 5
rickproehl Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Excuse me Good Sirs and DiC friends. Just wanting to stop in and say “Good Morning” doing fine just working a lot and staying warm. 2021 seems to be the year of weather issues this last week we have had 2 snow storms both with 8 + inches of snow and cold. things don’t look good this weekend we will get another major storm of maybe double this amount. the stores were a zoo no milk / bread / beer / toilet paper. people hear “snow” and they loose all common sense. Stay warm So how are things with everyone? 4

Could be worse. Last spring TP was hitting the black market. Good news is will get my truck back this afternoon. Bad news is both batteries needed to be replaced. 36 month warranty on the old ones. Guess when they were last replaced? Yup, 37 months ago. 5

Popular Post Ryan Jones Posted February 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2021 Well, that's two potential snowstorms that my particular area of the DC suburbs completely missed. Well, not completely, I had to clean a coating off my car windows but the streets and sidewalks were clean. This morning they had 4" or so about 40 miles south of DC, not a flake in my area. Now if we can miss the supposed ice storm coming on Saturday things will be good! In addition I checked online today for vaccination appointments and snagged two. Feb 18 for 1st dose, Mar 11 for the second one. Can't wait, I'll be back to playing poker at the casino by April! Hope everyone else is doing great. 6

Oh wells, I don’t have to go outside today, so I’ll just enjoy how pretty it looks. Oh, and good morning DiCers! Edited February 12, 2021 by Reader1810 5
Popular Post Kitt Posted February 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2021 We have had an excess of winter weather here. 2 more inches and we hit the most snow in Feb ever on record. Odd that coincides with the busiest Feb I have had since starting this business. Loading horses onto trailers with snow and ice on the drive can be...interesting. Ever notice Disney has never put horses on ice? 1 3 3
kbois Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 It's official. My brain has converted to pure sludge. I don't think I've been this mentally exhausted in quite some time. I stood at my kitchen counter this morning getting ready to leave, mentally ticking off .. keys? ✔ phones? ✔ thumb brace? ✔ mask? ✔ purse ✔... and off I go. Several of you are now whispering to yourself "oh no. She forgot coffee". Sure enough, 2 miles down the road I reach for my Tervis and...."oh shit". It was Dunkin's to the rescue. I made it to work still in human form. HOA is taking care of George the security nazi. Another resident called me to let me know that her brother was trying to stay with her after being kicked out by his wife. Dude had the balls to change the address on his license to here at the park. Ummmm...no. He left his truck with expired tags in my parking lot. I just watched the tow truck haul it outta here. I'm not playing. Half day tomorrow and then I can collapse into a pile of goo. Have a good day everyone! 4 1
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted February 12, 2021 Site Moderator Posted February 12, 2021 Just looked at the weather report again - so glad I can stay in today. 14-23 cm (4-9 inches) has already fallen with 10-15 cm (3 to 6 inches) more to come. Looking at the hedge outside, my area is on the high side of the snow level. Winter has arrived... 4
