The audio isn’t the greatest, but the weird (to me) combination of the Beatles music and Bollywood amuses me.  ;–)

(We're buddies, so I know we can joke around like this

I have to say, droughtquake, watching this video causes one word to come to mind -- apoplectic. This vid could be recycled by some drug company wanting to pitch anti-seizure meds directly to an over-feared public ;)

The song on the other hand is nice. Translated as it is, it might arguably be catchier than the original, lol.

I just wish they had been able to use a mixing board to adjust the volume of the trumpets in a few places to emphasize the vocals more.

I've just read @Headstall's latest short piece, Fly Me to The Moon, and some of the imagery in it made me think of some of the lines from this song from Leonard Cohen, which was on his 1967 debut album, Songs of Leonard Cohen...

I'm not looking for another, as I wander in my time
Walk me to the corner, our steps will always rhyme

You know my love goes with you, as your love stays with me
It's just the way it changes, like the shoreline and the sea

Many of the things he says remind me of the things Margaret Cho said about her experience starring on All American Girl on network TV. Experts who ‘know better’ kept telling her she needed to lose weight (because her round face made her look fat on screen) and gave her advice on how to appear ‘more Asian.’ I think that teenaged girls are more likely to accept a young Gay singer than their straight male classmates who conversely would find a young Lesbian to be sexually attractive (even though she’d be unlikely to be interested in the boys).

Corporations are inherently very conservative and averse to controversy even if the artist’s fans are open to the challenge. Corporations cater to the lowest common denominator which is why there are so many interchangeable singers and action movies available. Streaming was supposed to short-circuit that failing, but marketing has proven to be critical to the success of most singers.

Todrick Hall has a new song for Pride (warning, children and hyper-sensitive adults might not be familiar with some of the more vulgar language used):

LGBT-friendly Sufjian Stevens, best known for his work on the Call Me By Your Name soundtrack, has released two songs for Pride, Love Yourself and With My Whole Heart:

The HU is the Mongolian metal band who use traditional instruments and throat singing that you didn't know you needed. But you do. Trust me. This will enrich your life.

I see parallels and influences from all sorts of cultures. They remind me a bit of Native Americans (which isn’t a surprise because the ancestors of the Native Americans came from nearby parts of northeast Asia). The helmet the horseman is wearing reminds me of historic Chinese and Japanese designs. And there’s the clear Western influence everywhere else. Such a video couldn’t have happened a few decades ago!

I think the horseman is meant to be Ghengis Khan.

Sorry, Page. Not at all my kind of music! I hate the high pitched warbling style even though this one wasn’t as screechy as some others I’ve heard in the past.

I really was expecting you to post a handsome, young male J-pop singer…

That song is in the traditional style of Ainu folk singers.

This one is female, but she's a favorite of mine.  ;~)

I really hate the traditional (screechy) style of female Japanese and Chinese singers. I don’t like it when Mariah Carey screeches in notes only canines can hear either. But I did like Minnie Riperton’s Lovin’ You.

As opposed to @droughtquake, I adore this. I love traditional styles of singing like this. They're such fascinating techniques, and there's something raw and unrefined in it that speaks to me. Primal, you know? Gorgeous. But maybe all that is just the singer and musician in me talking.
