My dearest friend has not achieved progress in her fight against stage 4 cancer, despite costly treatments twice weekly in Madrid. And now another friend has admitted that his prostate cancer is actually not as “light” as he led me to believe. Plus awful train crash in southern Spain. Uff. Not the greatest Monday. I wish your friends comfort. 3 1
Kitt Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Somehow I always thought of "Manic Mondays" as crazy days while ironing out the glitches of life that occur on weekends but can't be fixed till offices etc open on Monday mornings. I did not think it meant the world emerging from weekend snow driving like maniacs. Roads are basically clear, just wet after yesterday's storm, but reason has not yet returned. I am not sure which are worse, the ones traveling 15 to 20 mph over posted limits getting pissed at those of us @ or close to the limit, or the ones crawling along a 50mph limit road @ 25! 2 1

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted January 20 Author Popular Post Posted January 20 Happy Whatever Day It Is .... i know things seem bad and frustrating, but do what i do and say F That! Sometimes, keeping your world small, is the best thing for your mental health. Eat well, dress warmly (it's howling here and is currently 8F /feels like -15F in the wind) or not if you're somewhere warm and do something you enjoy, don't stare at your phone or social media or the news, just don't ... i have socks to knit! Here's something interesting ... 7

I take time for myself. I do the things I enjoy. I do this in spite of the news. In spite of the way I'm "supposed" to feel. We've evolved to handle one thing at a time. Yet, we're presented with a world of worry on a daily basis. We're not built for it. It's why we see so much anxiety in the world. Overall, the more connected people are, the less happy. Don't bury your head in the sand. But don't live in the stream of information every second either. It'll make you crazy. 9

I know there are many people out there who say 'stay informed'. I'll let them give me the cliff notes version. Ive finally trained my husband to ask himself "does K really want to hear this"? Nine times out of ten the answer is no. I figure if something truly catastrophic is going to happen like Yellowstone going supervolcano or the zombie apocalypse then oh well. (I cant outrun a volcanic ash cloud but I might have a fighting chance at escaping zombies) Stay warm everyone! 4 3

With him home and relatively immobile, one day is blending into the next. I frequently find myself asking "Wtf day is it". If it were not for the day planner with alarms on my phone I would start missing appointments. 3 3

Kitt Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Batten down the hatches US East Coast. Here comes another massive winter storm! My area is saying a MINIMUM of 4" from Saturday evening thru Monday morning. My plan for last weekend worked well, so I think I am going to stick with it! Shopping today or tomorrow to beat the rush, comfort foods and snacks, then hide from the world for the duration! 5

kbois Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I am supposed to have plans to see some old friends from high school on Sunday. We may need to postpone depending on what this storm decides to do. I can't seem to escape storm tracking up here. Looks like I traded hurricanes for blizzards/ice storms. Sigh. On another note, why is it so hard to get some people's names right? Usually it's my last name that gives people trouble, but today it was my first name. It's one of those names that can be spelled a multitude of ways.... think Kaitlyn, Katelynne, Caytlin etc... So, I'm making an appointment and the girl asks for my first name, so I say it, then spell it.. K-a-y-t-l-i-n. I get an email with my registration and she input C-a-y-t-l-y-n-n-e (no, my name is not any of those lol). Is it so hard to listen? Anyways.... have a good day everyone and bundle up. My car told me it was 0 °C when I got to work. I told it to F-off, hurried inside and cranked the heat in the office to 75. 3
