Life is full of random events; tragedy strikes where it will until random goodness displaces the ugliness. Neither event lasts, fades in our collective memories until the roulette wheel of life lands on the unlucky number of some town or city. We’ve become callused…numb…and disbelieving of events outside of our homes, neighborhood, and state. It simply happens somewhere else…until.

Two boys from totally different backgrounds. Two different and equally dramatic histories. Two testing struggles. A tempestuous love affair in a provincial German town. Narrow-minded middle-class attitudes, venomous and hypocritical Catholic morality, archaic, harsh foreign prejudices. Street Art rebellion and a society basking in a false sense of security, ignoring the largest future natural disaster and the threat of war.

The book opens with two introductions and continues through a tumultuous series of events to a not quite inevitable conclusion!

This is a collection of my flash fiction, stories looking at modern day gay life (and life from a few years ago). Each chapter is a different story.

There is No Forever is a story about three friends living on the infamous James Street, the gayborhood of the city. Playboys, abandonment, violence, each manage life’s unexpected obstacles that bring them together while simultaneously ripping them apart.

Ash has a gaping chasm inside that can only be filled by one man. Unfortunately that man is his art teacher. Josh is falling hard for his gifted but troubled student but is too professional to ever act on it. It's an impossible situation.

One evening, in one man’s life when everything will change.

Shaun’s disabled leg has affected his entire life, causing a downward spiral he neither likes nor can live with. It is not just that his life is on hold, it is now falling backwards. On holiday in Scarborough (A northern English seaside resort), he finally faces the realities of his life and decides to take matters into his own hands. A walk along the town’s promenade to clear his thoughts and to help him make up his mind, if only the town’s numerous seagulls would stop following him.

Ed has a story to tell about survival. It begins with an incident so horrible you may think Ed isn’t going to come out okay at the end. There are many low points in his life, but Ed keeps trying to make things work no matter how bad it may seem. Just when he thinks he’s finally in the clear, we’ll let him tell his story.
