Tristan's High School Life - 8. Chapter 8

Jack’s POV

Tracy followed me into the office and Jake and Josh were sitting on the love seat so Tracy and I took the two wing backed chairs that faced the couch

“Do care to explain what is going on?” I asked trying to maintain my temper

“Tristan gets to do what he wants with no repercussions” Jake said

“Yeah and he killed our dads” Josh said

“Woah, what are you talking about?” Tracy questioned

“He drove them away and he probably made them overdose” Josh replied

“Nothing of the sort happened” I said

“You can’t be sure that he wasn’t involved.” Jake said

“Actually we can” Tracy said “The house they were living in had an elaborated security system and cameras that did catch someone but it wasn’t your brother”

“What?” The twins collectively gasped

“Yes Tracy is correct someone else was there but not your brother” I reiterated

“Jake and Josh you have to understand that your brother had it a bit rough. Your dads openly admitted that having him was a mistake. He heard this admission and let’s just say he didn’t take it well” Tracy said

“What you mean he was a mistake?” Jake said

“We’re mad at him but we love our brudder” Josh said his bottom lip quivering

“Yes that is why they had the big blow out” I said

“So how you two have been acting your brother feels more isolated; He needs you both to be there for him” Tracy said

“You both need to shape up and support your brother; TJ and Jackson don’t need the extra drama” I said

“We had no idea” Jake said glancing at his shoes

“Look boys, there will be times you don’t have all the information and you need to follow your instincts.” I said

“Listen Tristan tried to make amends about a year after they left” Tracy said

“He did?” Josh said

“Yes he did; he and TJ both took a trip out to California and the results were not pretty. TJ said that Tristan tried to be the bigger person; which shouldn’t have been what happened but things played out as many of us suspected it would.” Tracy said

“Your dads and grandpa were really rude and TJ tried to reason with them but it fell on deaf ears. Tracy and I took a trip out there with CC and attempted to get them to reconcile and it was just as bad.” I said

“We had no idea” they both said

“See there are times you don’t know everything.” I said

“Please apologize to your brother, TJ and Jackson” Tracy said

There was a knock at the door and Jackson popped his in

“Everything ok in here?” he asked

“Yes, I think things are better.” I said looking to the twins for confirmation

“Yes” they said in unison

“Could you ask Tristan to come in?” I asked

“He went out with TJ” Jackson replied

“Everything ok?” I asked

“No, he’s having a tough time and wanted to go and talk with TJ somewhere private.” Jackson replied

“I see, do you mind if we stay till they get back?” I asked

“No Pop, you guys are welcome but the others want some grandpa time” Jackson said

Jackson walked out and the twins followed.

“Honey, you think everything will be ok?” Tracy questioned

“Time heals all wounds” I said putting my belt on

“I am glad that wasn’t needed but showed you meant business. Any luck on the adoption papers?” Tracy asked

“I am getting everything together and I know TJ and Jackson wanted to have a family meeting to discuss the possibility” I sighed

“Something wrong honey?” Tracy inquired

“It’s just I admire the boys for taking them in but I worry they are going to burn out.” I said

“They are resilient and you know just as well as I do they can handle it” he replied

“Let’s go get us some grandkid love” I said standing up grabbing his hand as we walked out to living room. Man I still love this man

Tristan’s POV

“What’s bugging you bud?” TJ asked as we made our way through the park to our favorite bench

“Lots of things” I sighed

“Pick something and start there.” TJ encouraged me

“I don’t think I can take the twins hating me” I said

“They are pre-teens and expression is not their forte and I know it’s not permanent.” TJ said

“How do you know; they’ve never been angry this long” I sighed

“Tristan, they lost their dads, just like you. Their relationship with them was very different and we were all surprised that they chose to leave them” TJ said

“I can’t take it” I said tearing up

“Tristan, I have faith that Jack and Tracy can get through to them” TJ said pulling me closer

“Fat chance” I replied

“Ye of little faith, ok let’s move on” TJ said

“So you know Justin and Julian” I said and gulped but continued “They told me they are a package deal”

“Package deal?” TJ said confused

“Yeah they do everything together including dating” I said

“I see” TJ said and was quiet for a while

“Say something?” I pleaded

“Ok, I’m just surprised. I know no matter what I tell you if you don’t agree you’ll do it anyway” he said chuckling “My only concern is that you are careful”

“You mean its ok?” I asked for clarification

“Tristan you’re about to be 15 and Jackson and I love you so much but we knew you’d start dating when you were ready.” TJ said

“This doesn’t sound like you” I said

“You know my dating life wasn’t the best and there were things I regret but you are very mature for your age and like I said you’d do it not matter what I say so yeah I’m saying its ok” TJ said

“Wow, I can’t believe it. I expected you to say no” I said

“Like that would have stopped you” TJ said rolling his eyes

“Very true, so what I am going to do about school?” I asked

“Funny you should ask, Jackson and I talked about it after the meeting at the school” TJ said

“What did you decided?” I asked

“We didn’t decide anything. We talked about the options and a lot will depend on the investigation and what you really want to do” TJ said

“Did you bump your head? You are being too nice” I said and he laughed

“Yeah I guess I am. Look I’m tough on you because I love you” he said

“I know you love me” I said

“You’ve been a part of my life and I couldn’t stand it if something happened to you” He said getting misty eyed

“Aw brudder” I said making him smile

“So T3, what else is on your mind?” he asked

“I think maybe we should head home T2” I said

“Sounds good and promise to be safe” he said sincerely

“I will” I said

We walked back to the apartment in silence and I could tell he was in deep thought. When we arrived home TJ stopped when we walked in and was looking in the living room, Jack, Tracy and Jackson were playing the game The Game of Life and it appeared they were losing

“Kat you are a cheater” Mattie said

“You’re just a loser” Kat said blowing a raspberry

“You are a loser” Jayson said piling on

“He’s our twin brother so are we losers too?” Karson asked

“Boys no one is a loser” Jackson said

“Daddy is back” Jamie said running across the room throwing himself at TJ

“Hey guys” TJ said

“Everything ok?” Jackson asked getting up

“Yeah, where are my brothers?” I asked

“In their rooms” Jack replied

“Was it that bad” TJ asked

“Quite the opposite they wanted to talk privately” Tracy said

“What a relief, Jamie let me move please” TJ said trying to pull Jamie off

“I missed you daddy” Jamie said

“I can tell but I wasn’t gone that long” he replied

We moved and sat on the couch and Mattie and Jamie both jumped onto TJ’s lap

“Guess I’m chopped liver” Jackson said

“I love you dad” Karson said jumping onto Jackson

Kat and Jayson both moved to sit with the Grandpa’s

“Hunter and JR, you can sit with me” I said

“You don’t mind” Hunter said timidly

“Not at all, I love my brothers all the same” I replied and their faces lit up and they came over

“I messaged Jake and Josh to come down” Jackson said and I could hear my brothers on the stairs

“Hey everyone” Jake said as Josh skidded into him causing him to nearly fall

“Sorry Jake just excited” Josh said

“Boys something you want to say” Jack prompted

“We didn’t know Tristan” Jake started

“Yeah we didn’t know and we are sorry” Josh echoed

“Didn’t know?” I said puzzled

“Grandpa’s explained everything how you Teej tried to fix everything.” Josh said

“We love you brudder” Jake said

“I don’t know what to say” I said getting misty eyed

“You say you accept and love us too, you big goof” Josh said smiling

“I guess I love you” I said smirking

“You guess? Tickle fight” Josh screamed and both tried to tickle me but Hunter and JR were in the way

My phone went off when I was trying to avoid the tickles from my brothers

“Why are there two penis’s on your screen?” Hunter said holding my phone up
