Tristan's High School Life - 33. Chapter 33

I hope I redeem myself in your eyes... Let's have some fun :lmao:

Jack's POV

Upon entering the building, the doorman stooped us,

"Mr. Woolery, the police are upstairs with children and family services," Hugo said
"Thank you, has Ms. Carmine return?" I asked
"No sir, she has not," Hugo replied
"Thank you," I replied, and he nodded.

I walked over to the waiting area, called CC's phone, and was sent straight to voicemail. I then called City Hall and was able to reach Ali.

"Hi Ali, it's Jack; I need to talk to CC immediately."
"Hi Jack, she's in a budget meeting right now," Ali said
"This is one of those situations that require interruption," I said, letting my anger show.
"I'm sorry, Jack," Ali said
"Look, tell her the police and children and family services are trying to take Tristan, Jake, and Josh," I said
"Oh no, one second," Ali said, and she placed me on hold.
"Jack, what's going on," CC said breathlessly.
"Judge Morrison is the father of the boy who accosted Tristan and Xander, and he figured it out and is trying to derail the adoption. Hugo informed me that Children and Family Services and the police are in the apartment," I replied
"I'm sure Hunter's antics have something to do with it," CC replied
"I'm not so sure; I think it's because he's gay," I replied
"Judge Morrison has been on the Family Court for decades Jack, why would this be his first homophobic case?" CC replied suspiciously
"Do we know if it is? I only dealt with him on occasion as most of my cases were on the federal level," I said
"Ok, go upstairs and see what's going on. I will get to the bottom of this," CC said
"I had TJ take the kids somewhere," I said
"That could be a problem, but we'll deal with it when it comes. You're a smart lawyer and can play the game, Jack," CC said, boosting my confidence.

Tracy and I went up to the apartment, and a policeman greeted us.

"Either of you, Tristan Michaels?" he asked gruffly
"No, but I am his lawyer," I replied. "Now, please let us in."

The officer moved, and we entered the apartment to find Jackson and the kids all sequestered to the living room.

"Who are you?" Another policeman asked
"Jack Woolery and this is Tracy Woolery," I said, introducing us. "This is my son's home, and I am their lawyer."
"You were also at the court this morning," the officer said
"Didn't you hear him? He said he was their lawyer," Hunter said, rolling his eyes.
"What seems to be the problem, officer?" I asked as I spotted an all too familiar face coming from the back.
"We have a court order removing Tristan, Joshua, and Jacob Campbell from the custody of Tristan and Jackson Michaels," the officer said gruffly.
"Jack?" Trish said, coming from the back
"Trish, good to see you," I replied, hugging her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"The boys in question are wards of my in-law, and my son and his husband are adopting them," I said, pointing at Jackson.
"Oh, that's little Jackie?" Trish said in disbelief
"Yeah, that's him. He sure has grown since you last saw him," I told, chuckling.
"So you said the Campbell boys are wards of your in-law?" Trish said, looking at the court order.
"Yes, Caroline Carmine is TJ's Aunt, and she has guardianship of them," I replied, smiling.
"May I ask where they are?" Trish replied, looking around, and at that moment, CC arrived.
"They've detained in a safe place," I said
"Madam Mayor," Trish said, looking at CC.
"Good afternoon," CC replied
"Now, Trish, you will see that the order has an error. TJ and Jackson are not their guardians," I said, smirking.
"It is a severe error," Trish said. "Officers, you may leave until I get to the bottom of this."
"We have the judge's orders, ma'am," the officer said.
"There is some concern here, and until I resolve it, you are not needed," Trish said sternly.

The officers begrudgingly left, and Trish remained.

"So what trouble did you get into this time Jack," Trish said with a laugh.
"Morrison ripped into my grandson about his being gay and thinks he had something to do with his son being sick," I replied
"Jack, will you ever learn," Trish said smiling. "All of us in Children and Family Services know he's the biggest homophobe on the bench, and steer clear of him. Why do you think he got you scheduled so fast?" Trish said
"So he has a history of this?" CC asked
"He does, and he hasn't stopped," Trish said. "I've seen his tear apart families, and it's so sad."
"It ends now," CC said with an evil smile
"Oh," Trish said, picking up on CC's plan.
"You're going to remove him," I said, smiling evilly.
"Yep," CC said with a huge smile.

CC created the most diabolical plan and called her pal Roger for some help, and he was going to put her idea into motion.

The next day started typically, except TJ and the boys were still in hiding. CC had advised me to take Hunter to the Court House and let him cause a little mischief.

Hunter and I arrived at the Court House around 7:30 before anyone else got there.

"Grandpa, I got this," He said with the biggest smile and vanished, leaving me in the lobby.

Hunter's POV

I entered the Judge's office in my stealthy invisible mode, I mean chamber or whatever it's called, and began the fun. I found the files of all the LGBTQIA+ folks that the Judge has ever wronged and piled them on the table in the conference room, just like Grandma requested. I loosened the bolts to his chair; I was going to have some fun. I waited for the Judge to appear, and as Grandpa said, he arrived late with donuts and a cup of coffee.

As soon as the Judge arrived, he set the food and coffee on the desk and sat in the chair, which instantly gave way, causing him to fall to the floor.

"What the hell" Judge Morrison shouted and went across the hall for a new chair. I quickly added I replaced his sugar dispenser with one filled with salt, and he now had expired milk too. I waited for him to return, and he placed his chair behind the desk and grabbed his robe, which I had previously shrunk.

"What? I wore this one yesterday." Morrison groaned, removed his robe, grabbed a new one from the closet, and put it on. He fixed his coffee and took a sip, turned green, and spit his coffee out.

"What vile stuff is that," he said, getting angry. He reached for his donut, which was a Boston Creme, and as he got close to his mouth, I was able to squeeze it, and all the creme inside cascaded down his robe. He attempted to clean it, but it stained his robe.

"Pull it together, Morrison; it's a big day. You finally take Jack down," he said to himself in the mirror. I made the mirror crack which caused him to jump back and fall on his butt. I was laughing on the inside way too hard and had to be careful.

There was a knock at his door, and it opened, and in walked Grandma, Trish, and someone else.

"Mayor Carmine, so good to see you," he said with the fakest smile.
"I wish I felt the same way, but you see, we have some business to discuss," Grandma said, getting down to business. "This is Trish Harper, the Director of Family and Children Services, and this gentleman is Paul Smith from the ACLU."
"Nice to meet you," Morrison said, and his phone began to ring off the hook. "I need to get that."
"You will wait," Grandma commanded. "It has been brought to my attention that you seem to dislike homosexuals, is that correct."
"My court rules with no bias," Morrison smugly said.
"Is that so," Grandma smiled. "Then please enlighten me on why you requested my Grandchildren removed from my nephew's care?"
"Your nephew?" Morrison said, sweating as his phone in his pocket vibrated.
"TJ Michaels, Judge Morrison," Trish said
"Those Campbell children and that homosexual Jack?" Morrison said enraged
I couldn't hold it, so I made his phone screen shatter, and he yelped.
"Judge Morrison, numerous complaints have been filed against you and your bias," Smith said glaringly. "Anything to say about it?"
"No," he said defiantly.
"These allegations were brought to my attention last night, and you've left me no choice but to remove you from the bench effective immediately," Grandma said, and I let out a whoop.

"What what that?" Morrisons said, and Grandma glared in my direction
"Nothing," Grandma said. "Now pack up your stuff and get out."

Just then, his desk phone rang again, and it was his wife.
"Harold, we have an emergency; Junior was booted from the Academy," his wife sobbed.
"What?" Morrison bellowed
"Something about conduct unbecoming of an officer and he face a review panel and removed effective immediately," she said.
"He bullied on fag" Morrison said, and that was my last straw.

I picked up the remaining donut and squeezed the creme out, and hit Morrison in the face. Everyone in the room burst into fits of laughter, and Morrison was enraged.

"I am going to leave you with a piece of advice," Grandma said. "When you mess with someone, make sure that they are more powerful than you."

Across the hall, Grandpa and the lawyers from the Shepard Center Law Group were busily pouring through the files and needed to help right some wrongs. Upon reading one file, Grandpa turned pale, set the file down, picked it up, and reread it.

"I need to go," Grandpa said, taking the file with him.

What did Jack discover?

What did you think about Hunter's narration?

In addition to Grandpa Jack finding that in the case of the judge's homophobe son, the rotten apple doesn't fall far from the rotten tree, he's also stumbled upon information that poses a clear and present danger (apologies to Tom) to everyone; from the youngest to the oldest. ⚠️

First... you are right we have not seen the last of the Morrison's.

Second, I am NOT that diabolical.

Third, Morrison was in Family court and handled adoptions.... just let that simmer for a minute. remove from heat and let it stand 1-2 minutes before consuming.

Ok... maybe I do a terrible job of foreshadowing.

I gave a HUGE hint in the story.

Pull it together, Morrison; it's a big day. You finally take Jack down,
