A prompt a week - 46. Tony's Outted - Prompt 586
“Where are you planning to get the money for that vacation?” Tony looked over Mark’s broad shoulder at the website on screen.
“I can look. You know I’ve been putting money away.” Mark turned and glared at his brother. “And it isn’t a vacation, it’s called a honeymoon!”
“Yeah, yeah.” Tony smiled and sat on his older brother’s bed. “Just don’t you and Bran forget to bring me back something!”
“You do realize its our honeymoon. We aren’t going for souvenirs, you know?”
Tony nodded. “I’m teasing. Just going to miss you.”
Mark got up and sat beside Tony. “I’m not going far. We have a house we go to closing on next month.“
“I know. Dad was proud. Mom…” Tony broke eye contact and looked at the floor.
“I know, Tony. It isn’t your fault. Mom hates I’m gay, never mind that Brandon is older. That is her problem. You’re my best man. Dad is coming, so that’s all that matters.”
Tony reached out to hug his brother.
“Look, I’m just a bus ride away. If you need me, call. I’ll be here in an hour.” Mark turned and lifted his brother’s face so he could see his eyes.
“I’ll be fine. I mean I’m going to be fifteen, and Dad is here. Maybe I’ll find someone when I go to college too.”
“Don’t let Mom make your decisions. I still think you are bi, bro. You watch and take pleasure in both. You just date whoever interests you. Dad has your back, and so do I.”
“Who am I going to talk to?”
“Tony, honest, I’m a phone call away.”
There was a knock on the door and the boys turned to find their father standing there.
“Tony, I’m always here for you. Sorry, heard the end of that. Your mother will come around. She forgets Aunt Ruth brought me up when my parents died. Aunt Ruth and Barbara took care of me. Your mother is having a crisis of faith. Her problem, not yours.”
Mark smiled at his father.
“And Tony, I don’t care who you date. However, neither sex is allowed in your room. You want someone over, stay in the family room. Not ready to be a grandparent, or have to do your sheets after sex!”
“Daaaad!” Tony blushed and couldn’t look at his father.
Mark sat there laughing.
“And you, laughing boy, don’t watch porn on the computer in the den. You didn’t clear the browser history and I don’t want to know what your mother would have done if she found it,”
Mark stopped laughing and looked at his father. “I haven’t been on the den computer dad. Bran bought my laptop. It’s all I use.”
“Just kill me now,” whispered Tony as he writhed in place.
Their father looked from one to the other and shook his head. “I guess I better get your brother his own then.”
Mark tried not to laugh. “Good idea…um…yeah, Dad.” He then burst out laughing.
“Oh my god,” exclaimed Tony as he pushed past his father and ran to his room.
“He has interesting tastes,” comment his father as he walked away.
Mark’s laughter could be heard throughout the house.
