Secret Author Contest-Forbidden Is... Revealed? Nooooo.

    By Cia

Ha! Did you think it was time to share the stories and authors? No!! Total clickbait. Heehee! That's right, time to vote on your favorite! Now, to be fair, it would be ideal to have read ALL the stories. Can you vote without having read them? YES! Because this is about your favorite use of our theme of Forbidden Knowledge that you read in this year's Secret Author Forbidden Knowledge stories. Pick a SINGLE title, this isn't your top three. It doesn't even have to be your favorite overall st

Thanks

I have to say I'm totally blown away by the warmth of the comments left on my first post. I was sort of expecting to drivel on for a while before anyone said anything. Thank you. I'm honoured.   erm.. I would also like to add that I wrote this last month and didn't realise that it was on 'draft' mode. Duh. I'm stupid not impolite... Most of the time.

Stories are better than pills

I was somewhat... erm... depressed today. I wrote: I'm sitting here silently screaming at myself. I'm surrounded by people who love me. So why do I feel so alone? Even though I want to talk, even though I'm asked and given every opportunity to talk I won't. I can't. Bri, who is downstairs watching TV has no idea at the swirling cess pit of angst sitting over her head. Yet I can blog about it... No. I can't even truthfully do that either. I want to smash the screen and rip the head off that d

Sexuality: I just don't care

So I feel compelled to start with a little warning/disclaimer/advisory/whatever ya wanna call it. This post probably stands a good chance of offending people, which is not my intent. I make it mostly in an attempt to organize my thoughts and lay out my beliefs/desires in a coherent "set" way. I mean to make no value judgements nor am I in any way endeavoring to persuade anyone to come to my way of thinking. Finally, my own thoughts, beliefs, and opinions on ALL these matters tend to be ver

I don't know..screw titles

So I just finished DD 35, and oddly enough it brought back so many memories for me that I can't even be pissed about the cliffhanger. That whole thing with Seth not wanting to say goodbye, I went through that a couple times a year for three years. My boyfriend went off to college as I was starting 10th grade, and it was far enough away from home (well, it was here in Pgh, actually) that I only got to see him at Christmas and spring break. I was so completely pathetic about it, I'd start marking

second try... grrrrrrrrr

I already typed this once  and just as I was about to post it my son pressed some magical button on my mouse and it disappeared so here is try number two! Grrrrr...   Okay so we just finished eating dinner and apparently my daughter seems to think that they only kill poor old chickens to make chicken nuggets and that's only so they won't have to suffer   My son has been watching Dora the Explorer lately and has been quizzing us on stuff he learned while watching, For example, he'll a

These things.

So It has been a while since anything crazy has happened in my life. I mean weird crazy. Today I went to my therapist. when I got there her receptionist told me that she was running late. I had nothing to do today so I wasnt in a hurry. There was this guy there also waiting. He was looking at me really weird. So naturally my paranoid ass sat as far as I could from him.   I picked up a magazine and was really into an article I was reading when i hear a voice ask me if my name is Green. I was li

Introductions Continued again... Plus.

So that was Robert over and done with. I saw him once more when I was eighteen. He was sitting with a few friends in the garden of my local pub. We both spotted each other at the same time and made brief eye contact. I'd like to think he blushed. I walked by and he was gone when I got back.   I finished prep school as a 'senior' at the grand age of twelve. I left early as the teachers had told my parents that If I was going to pass the exams I'd need tutoring. Tutoring was awful. The days seem

Identical?

I met my brother and his girlfriend today for lunch. Sometimes I wonder where my brother and I got so different. He's my twin brother and sometimes we can do the same things. We look identical but that is where our similarities end. He can be a little cold with people, something I am not capable of doing. He's never been shy but I seem to be. Ever since I came out to my family my brother seems to want to find reasons for he and I to relate. Normally I would welcome it but today he crossed the li

This place is astounding! But...

I've been tootling around the site, as you do, wandering from link to link. The front page is um... 'very nice' but it gives the impression of a backwater, like it's thrown together 'cause it has to be there, a sort of 'hey I'm not tarting it up, I've got other things on my mind' attitude. This could well be intentional, but I'm kind of glad I arrived elsewhere when I first did.   Mostly there is a great top bar with menu, though on some pages it has a banner ad above it, on others the ad is

I've got me a title!

Woohoo!   Yeah, stupid though it may sound, one of the things that's been holding me up on the sequel to Yankee (besides work, other writing commitments, the straight romance novel, family time, and a serious attempt to make things good with my wife) is the title. I've been calling it "Yankee II" but, let's be honest, as a title that stinks. (Granted, there are worse, but who wants worse than that?) The title helps me, since it mostly sums up the story, at least until it's got enough traction

Flirting

So I've been wanting to write an entry about this since Valentine's day, but I kept getting distracted with other things. If you happened to read my pre-Valentine's day blog, "A dozen long-stem Artichokes", you'll know that my plans for Valentine's day included hitting a gay club in a nearby city. So I did. It was fun, I'd been to this particular one, one other time, and there were definitely alot more people there this 2nd time.   So I walked in and started hanging around by the bar. So

DAVID

David's brother arrived today, from New York City. My first impression of him is that he really does care about David. I almost cried when I saw them hug each other for a long time. They held each other for a long time. It was like watching years of anger and pain melt away right before our eyes. I pulled Chaz away to the kitchen and let them have their moment in private. I am so happy for David. He finally has a real connection you know?   They joined us a few minutes later where proper intr

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Editor

I've had the odd experience of being able to edit drafts of a story I'm reading and really, really like.   On the one hand, it's kind of cool -- I get to read chapters before everyone else. (nyah, nyah! ) Which isn't actually a cool thing all by itself, but I get a fix sooner than I might otherwise, and that's good.   The downside to this is I actually feel kinda like crap about it, and more than a little guilty. And that's because I've been ripping the chapters to shreds. Stuff that I wou

Hah! and awwwwwwwwwww~

Okay I'm warning you know this is gonna be a little long, but stay with me it'll be sooooooooo worth it   Okay first... I think I told some of you about this but it just got sooooooooooo much better So I bought Rich some jeans for Christmas cause the pairs he has now all have these holes where the back pocket attaches to the rest of the jeans, probably from putting his wallet in and out of it. Anyway, I knew he needed more jeans and he is so easy to shop for because he is really... boring. H

I'm so bored right now ...

I've started a Yahoo group for anyone who wants to receive notification of new chapter postings and/or discuss "Someday Out Of the Blue" (and my other stories when I get around to them ... hehe):   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/littlebuddhatw_stories   The academic conference yesterday was ... interesting. When I went up to the table at the front and sat down where the "discussers" (people who critique the presenters' papers) sit, everyone in the room just stared at me ... obviously shocked

Toward a boring critism of Dom's work

Ok, I'm not trying to be rude, but I think that the topic Magical moments in Dom's Stories...toward a serious critism of Dom's Work is easily the most boring topic I've ever seen on the Domoholic's forum. Maybe I'm not refined enough to be interested, but I have to say that I've never actually started to get drowsy while reading something on this forum.......until I read that topic......ok, sorry. I just had to say something. I think it's a mistake to try to over analyze Dom's work that way. He

My Nose Knows

So I was in the shower the other day when all of a sudden my nose started bleeding. Which really isn't a big deal. Ever since I was a young child I've had nosebleeds when sick. So I mean it doesn't really phase me at all. I hate it because it's messy and gross, but it doesn't upset me at all. Anyway it's been better the last few years and as I said I almost never get them unless I'm sick. And when I do it usually does happen randomly in the shower. I guess it's the heat and humidity, I do

First post - Introductions

The first post is always the worst. Especially because I'm aware that this is relatively public. Yet not. The people that might read this are at the very least of a like mind, and will not be judgemental... I hope. Even if they are, does it matter? It's true that what people say about what you do or write always matters. But not from the RL point of view of outing me. That is one great joy of the internet. Anonymity.   I'd say I'm probably bisexual with a strong leaning towards men. Not that I

Brrrrrr, lumps, and... ugh!

I have a lump! Right on the top of my head and it hurts! A LOT! I was trying to climb into Rich's beep beep car in the dark and I hit my head. SO owwwwwwwwwww! Then... he tried to say that it was the car's way of getting back at me for talking badly about it  Whatever... all I know is it hurts. Then, THEN, he offers to whack the lump back in with a hammer....but I pointed out to him that in cartoons when they do that, the lump just pops out in another place. That I do not need.   My
