Sunday, bloody Sunday

10am I was dragged from what I vaguely recollect being quite a nice dream by the damn telephone. I'd got to bed around 4am after being suckered into clicking on a pop up ad that took me to a site for laser eye surgery - facinating, but sleep would have been healthier. So I shamble to the phone and it's M my 'soul mate', you know, the one I want to shag senseless but am too frightened to ask.   We were supposed to be at a car boot sale (English 'boot' = US 'trunk') at midday. This basically inv

YAY! But crap!

I got accepted to a law school! *dances around like a fool* The problem is, it's not my first choice (cause I'd have to move to another state), and they want a $200 deposit by May 1. I haven't heard back from my first pick yet, and I wasn't really expecting to by the end of the month, so I guess I'm just gonna have to swallow the $200 just in case. It's really good to know that I at least got in somewhere, though.   Val

Trying my hand at poetry

Ok, so I've started a Poetry Series at the efiction section of this site. and I've been getting some good reviews. I mean, my first poem wasn't that good. It didn't rhyme, so I think people naturally hate it. But my other poems have gotten some good reviews. Of course, that doesn't mean that I'm not writing stories anymore. As a matter fo fact, I'm almost done with chapter 6 of My Jump Off. I'm going out tonight, so I won't get it done until either when I get home tonight or tomorrow. But I pr

Sweetheart is SUCH a good kitty

Well, Sweetheart has had her kittens. I swear she waited until today just to give me the maximum amount of anxiety. I was a wreck worrying about leaving her when she was so very pregnant. Last time she had 4 kittens and one was born dead and the others died about a week later--so I had nightmarish visions of coming home to little corpses.   But I was awoken this morning by the unmistakable sound of a newborn kitten screaming its head off. Seems they always do that. Either they will be b

Saturday night ramblings

The preparations for my move are coming along pretty well. I've managed to pitch some more junk and trash (since I'm such a pack rat), done some cleaning, and tomorrow I'll box up some books to take to the post office on Monday. I'll be sending them via sea, since it's a lot cheaper, and if I send them, they might even be waiting for me when I get home in July. Less than three months left to go now ...   The mosquitoes are still invading full-force, as vicious as ever. I swear, they must be sp

"Making Risky Comittments"

So a little while ago I was taking this personality/interests test online. See a couple of weeks ago (before my epiphany in church ) when I went to see the 2nd counselor she told me I should take this test to better gage my interests, THEN I actually figured out what I wanted to do without taking the test. So not actually having any good reason to take the test I hadn't gotten around to it. But I did pay a fee to sign up for it and I actually kinda like taking tests like that so I figured,

Maybe I'm feeding him too much?

The other night Sam and I were in Price Choper (local grocery store) and for some reason I happened to notice him. *laughs* Well, he is pretty hard to notice since his mouth is usually running and he has a voice that could whisper and be heard in the ozone seats in a stadium. But you know how you see someone every day and then suddenly SEE them? All of a sudden I noticed I was looking at him in a different place. Ok, that sounds strange, I know. What I mean is, when I had looked at him the

TGIF

I drive everyone nuts with my TGIF's. I just love Friday. Well Friday's at four. I always get that euphoric feeling at having two days off! My usual weekend routine is a bit off this weekend because of Easter but I guess I can survive not spending all of Sunday goofing off once in a while. Usually on Sundays I don't even change out of my pajamas. I call it my day of rest, even though I'm in no way a religious person, but I figure everyone deserves a day of rest!   We're going to Sam's mo

Is it worth it? PART 2

I came home a couple of hours ago. Green and the kid were seated on the floor with big headphones listening to music. Green makes me angry some times I will admit. Before he took this kid in he called me and told me he was doing it. He didn't really ask me he just said he was doing it. I know this is his house ultimately but I feel like he and I are a team right now. I think it's great that he can help this kid and I find myself helping the kid too it's just well I would be nice just to be asked

How long should a story be

I am frankly amazed at how some authors produce huge quantities of quality writing week after week, so I googled and thought I'd post some facts from Lee Masterton's article: 'How long should should your story be' Short Story 1,000 - 7,500 words The 'regular' short story, usually found in periodicals or anthology collections. Most 'genre' zines will features works at this length.   Novellette 7,500 - 20,000 words Often a novellette-length work is difficult to sell to a publisher. It is co

Life Rox

I feel better than I have in a really long time....maybe ever   Life is really going well, i knew certain things in my life were good (like the degree of acceptance towards my sexuality), but it seems everything is going in my favor now.   Tomorrow, I am going to Max's house. Today was a little weird, because he didn't get home until like 10:45, so I didn't know whether I was going or not. Happily, it turned out in my favor.   One of my friends, who I've been talking to more lately, see

Is it worth it?

Hi guys I know Ive been a little silent for the last couple of days. I've been dealing with a lot these two days and it's left me very emotionally drained. I through some circumstances I cannot mention as it affects my personal and professional life have taken in a homeless teen of the street. He's was living in a park for two weeks until I was made aware of it by other kids.   My friends are somewhat cautious and Chaz is treating me like I don't exist right now. I am being cautious trust me b

I didn't see Rory, but I found Milo...

Home Sweet Home~ My own bed, my own pillows, back to sleeping naked ahhhh! Sigh of relief!   Well, the trip to Arizona in a nutshell...   We, left here around 9:30 am, an hour and a half behind schedule by the time we stopped for gas and air in the tires and breakfast and some medicine for my son who had a runny nose and we drove... About an hour into it we see this accident that had just happened. It was one lane on an interchange from one freeway to another and they had these cement ba

Mosquitoes suck

The mosquitoes are now out in full force, and they have invaded my apartment. I hate having to burn that awful-smelling mosquito repellant incense, but it's the only thing that seems to keep most of them at bay (somewhat). Those little plug-in kinds don't work ... at least not on Taiwanese mosquitoes, which I'm starting to think are some kind of super, genetically-altered mosquitoes. So anyway, my legs are like totally bitten up and itch like hell. Not fun.   Yesterday, I bought my one-way air

Max

OK, today was...interesting.   First, my parents found a thing I had written a little while back about depression and suicide--lets just say it was vivid. Apparently, my dad found it and faxed it to my mom, and they both came down early because they were worried. Long story short--they had an "intervention." Everything went well though.   More importantly, I came out to Max today   Seriously, I thought I had gotten good reactions before, but his is by far the best. So he (ironically)

Buxom Babes

I've spent a good portion of the last couple of days thinking about the form of the human body and why it is that I'm attracted to guys rather than women? I love women, and to use a cliche a lot of my best friends are women, but...   I work with a bunch of people I really have nothing in common with, which is annoying. In the UK we have a paper called 'The Sun' and on page three everyday is the naked breasted babe with coyly arranged knickers hiding nothing. The paper is left (I get in late so

Life after Annie, hehe

Sooooo, Thursday, Friday and Saturday were our performances for Annie. Each night a sell out. I think Thursday was our best night, it all went along smoothly and perfect. Friday and Saturday were a little less perfect, but we still got standing ovations. It was great, really it was. Thursday night we went out to this restaurant and celebrated, and Friday night me and a few others did the same thing. Saturday night, we had the cast party at one of the servent girls' house. We got done with the pl

Seeking Nirvana

Well, I posted my first short story, "Seeking Nirvana," and so far, the feedback has been kind of mixed. I didn't expect that many people would get the "deeper" philosophical meaning I was getting at, and since it's a subject not too many people are familiar with, I can't say I'm surprised that the number of responses hasn't come close to SOOTB.   At any rate, two of the important things I was trying to get across were: 1) at all the points where Nicky thought he wasn't "getting it," he actual

No apologies

This I'll never be sorry for     Having my own opinion Being different from other people Telling someone that they're wrong Demanding facts when somoene tries to change my opinion or prove me wrong Winning political debates in the chat room (and I did rather easily)   Well, for everyone who forgot why Myr closed The Soapbox, if you were just in chat with me, you now know why I'm never going to let someone tell me that my opinions are wrong without an argument, and then have them make
