Getting "caught in the act" is the most common translation of this Latin phrase. It involves a person being very naughty and someone 'walking in on them.' I'm proposing these prompts because sometimes our characters can get just too nice. Our protagonist can be too "pro" and our antagonist too "mean". Sometimes having our main character suffer a character flaw, or two, can lend more authenticity to a story. Let's stretch our wings and try something a bit nasty.

The ‘Feel’
There are a number of techniques that any author can use to create a story, build it up from scratch, and gain control over how that story reads. There are ways to ‘guide’ your audience into having them read it the way that you wrote it, and that comes with a ton of practice. But the more you learn about the art of actually doing it, the more effective your stories become in terms of delivering an experience that you can be proud of, and will stick with your audience long after it

Happy Thursday to me! Thursday is the one weekday I have off. It’s dark, cold and rainy outside at the moment. Perfect for snuggling in front of the fire.

Who develops ideas like I do, I sometimes wonder? When a story starts as nothing more than a concept, leaving you to flesh out everything else -- characters, POV, time period etc. Many of my writer friends focus on characters. They have the perfect

Cabotage in aviation is the right of a country to regulate and protect its domestic industry from foreign competition, even if the foreign country has been granted the right to operate within its borders. Banausic is a pejorative. Ancient Greeks considered a life of leisure and learning their ideal. They had slaves to do menial labor and physical tasks, so banausikos (of an artisan, pedestrian) was beneath the intellectuals and viewed with disdain.
The design is ingenious. The largest part, the float on top, is filled with buoyant gasoline. Hoppers, open at the bottom, are filled with iron shot held by electromagnets. When released, the weight reduction allows the craft to surface and it's a failsafed system.
