TurtleBoy Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I found the site threw Comicality's Shack out Back! My Favorite page on all the net! Of course, I didn't join till recently I've been aware of the site for a couple years. Now I'm wishing I didn't leave it so long. Glad to be here now though!!
DougDoes8 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 How did you find Gay Authors? I was reading a story on Nifty and at the end was a link which eventually led here.
demic Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I was reading a story on Nifty and at the end was a link which eventually led here. That's exactly how I found GA
D Writes Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 I found out about GA while reading "From Behind Those Eyes" by Viv on Nifty. She had the links for this site in the end of the story... So I think I should thank Viv for that
GaryKelly Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 G'day...Too easy! I found Gay Authors by asking Mr (or is it Mrs) Google. My work is published on the net but I'm looking for a wider audience. I figure it's far more important to be read than famous. )
Benji Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I have noticed a huge influx of new people lately, so I've been meaning to ask... How did you find Gay Authors? I've been reading a lot of sites, GA included, for the last couple of years, Somebody posted a message, that me feel a little quilty in not acknowledging some of these great authors. This in turn made me register and sign in just recently. So the real question is why are there so many respondents lately
AlanN Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I have been reading GA for a while and quite frankly I don't remember how I came across it. It was probably a link from another site. I do know that I love it here and just wanted to say thanks to all teh people that ake up the site. . I enjoy reading many of the authors.Thank You all for the many hours of reading. Thank you also to the sites owners Mod and anyone else I have forgoten for making this site possable AlanN
jfalkon Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I was thinking about some English Lit. classes I had taken. Thanks to them I knew what women wrote about, what men wrote about, what black people wrote about, what white people wrote about...The list went on and on. I began to wonder if there was any demographic group they had omitted. Then I realized I did not know what gay people write about. I went on the internet and found this site. Gay people write about some pretty cool things!
BeaStKid Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I found this great site through nifty... i was reading through nifty stories and they have a link to GA in their 'links to other erotic stories' list. well, i'm glad i found this forum...IT ROCKS!!
nevius Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I wandered into Dom's page one day about a year or so ago. Now I've finally become a member and feeling my way around. It looks like a good place to hang out.
eliotmoore Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Yep, it was Nifty that led me here too through authors posted both places.
Jason Rimbaud Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I found out about this site through Awesome Dude. I joined over a year ago but didn't start really delving into the site until a few weeks ago. For some reason, I thought only hosted authors could share their stories here. How I missed eFiction I'll never know, but I'm liking it. But what really caught my attention was the poetry forum. I'll admit it, I love writing poetry almost as much as writing stories. This site has it all. Very cool. Jason R.
Kanaye Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I found it quite a while ago through Dom's site. Actually I was at Nifty reading the first chapter of The Ordinary Us which linked to his site and then I followed a link to the other chapters of TOU and at the bottom of THAT page was a link to here. Usually my memory is horrible! I cant belive i actually remembered that! WOW!
Gil Andrews Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I found the site through nifty. I was reading Savage Moon by Comie and found the site here though The Shack Out Back. Since then I can't seem to tear myself away! There is a lot of talent here.
BeaStKid Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 There is a lot of talent here. All Thanks to Myr and the people working behind the scenes to make this site a huge success....The Admins, The Moderators, The WST, The Editing team, The Authors and last but by all means not the least The Members themselves.... to you all!! The BeaStKid P.S Apologies and Thanks to those I missed out....
BlueSoxSWJ Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Nifty --> SciFi --> Do-Over --> link to dkstories.com --> link to forums If you want to go back further than that, I guess you'd have to go me going to Brown --> meeting my roommate --> him dragging me to rush what became my fraternity --> overhearing a couple of the brothers talking about erotic stories, and mentioning several sites, including Nifty.
sungod Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 -> Google -> typed: "gay story websites" -> Stories at Gay Authors (#1 on the first page of results) sungod
EMoe57 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 My path to GA started way, way back around late 1999 or early 2000, when I first found Comicality's Shack Out Back. This was, of course, well before he was hosted here....but when he moved through a few other places and then finally settled here, I followed and thus, found the rest of GA as well. That about covered my road to GA. Beside frequent visits to Comsie & Nifty in those early years, I also went to DaBeagle (among others) where I devoured DK
kashka Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 now that i look back it was a quite complicated and highly random process O_o step 01. i found an interesting sounding yaoi-manga title on baka-updates step 02. in order to get it i had to join a certain forum. after i did so and dl-ed what i came for i introduced myself in the introduction thread. step 03. after a couple of posts i mentioned the country i come from and another forum member replied that she knew another girl from there. she also said that the girl writes a great original story and gave me link, saying that i should check it out. step 04. a couple of days later i decided that since i have no book to read on me i may as well try the story. that was the first original gay story i've read. it was good. i got hooked. step 05. i don't remember if it was because one of my lectures was cancelled or i simply had a free period - i found myself with a bit of free time between lectures/classes and decided to spend it on uni's computer reading the mentioned story. i didn't have the story's address though, so i tried to google it by the author's name and the story's title. i got a link to aarinfantasy forum, with a thread "original stories/fanfics recommendations". i found the needed link and remembered the useful thread. step 06. after reading all available chapters of the story (it's still ongoing) i decided to go to the aarinfantasy forum again and look for sth else to read. it was a blind luck that i clicked at the "the oridinary us" (by dom luka, but you all know that ) link. step 07. i read the whole story. then i read all the others dom's stories. then i wanted to know when can i hope for a new chapter so i decided to visit dom's forum. i was an anonymus lurker there for a while (in the meantime i re-read some of dom's stories ^^'). then i noticed that dom wasn't the only one to administrate his forum. i decided to check out who "dkstories" was (as it was somewhere mentioned that he's a GA author too, and a good one ) step 08. i found GA main site and tried to find him there. no such luck ^^' but this is when google comes in handy *smirks* do i have to mention that i got hooked on dan's stories too? step 09. i got tired of lurking and decided that such great authors deserve the feedback. so here i am :] i'm willing to bet my right foot's pinky toe that i'll find even more great authors here ^___^ cuz i can already see that people here are really nice ^_____^ (btw, the manga that i was pursuing turned out pretty much average in the end, but it's thanks to it that i'm here so i won't delete it ) sorry if i'm boring you out with too much details ^^'
Liddy Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 I read one of Dom's stories (can't remember which) that had a link to his place on gayauthors and I think he mentioned something about having more chapters up here so I took a look at his page. For a long time I was a monogamous domaholic anonymous. Then I joined the forum and followed some of the links in the member's signatures. I poke my head out of Dom's forum every once in a while and realized that he's not the only good author around here, I'll do more exploring. Thanks to everybody that's making this possible.
FrenchCanadian Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) it's wwas a long process, a while back as I was reading stories on nifty, I stumbled on a story (I'm about sure it was desert dropping) and it had a link to here... from there I read the rest of Dom's stories.. Then later on, I stumbled on a VLista's story on nifty and same thing happen,,, from that moment I started looking for and read the other hosted writers,, after few months I've finally decided to register in the forum Edited October 10, 2007 by frenchcanadian
Steven Keiths Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 How did you find Gay Authors? REC told me of a story he authored, Jake's Hand when I was visiting the AwesomeDude site. It is a phenomonal story along with the follow-up/sequel Jake's Side. I highly reccommend these writings. His character development along with his description of the area the story is set are beautifully done. I with anticipation wait for his next work(s). --Steven Keiths If you can't laugh at yourself; you're probably not funny.
