Thorn Wilde Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Clue: The author of this book has also written several critically acclaimed, if somewhat morbid, children's books, one of which was made into a fairly popular stop-motion movie a few years ago. Edited July 2, 2013 by Thorn Wilde
Andy78 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 No, it's neither of those. This is from a book by one of my favourite authors. Didn't I read in another post somewhere that is Neil Gaiman? Great, one author I've never read anything by
Thorn Wilde Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Didn't I read in another post somewhere that is Neil Gaiman? Great, one author I've never read anything by Neil Gaiman is the right author. Clue the second: The book came out in 2001, but was re-released in 2011 as a tenth anniversary edition with the author's preferred text and other goodies, and they made a full cast audio book. There is talk of an HBO series based on the book.
Miles Long Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 "There's a short circuit between my brain and my tongue, thus "Leave me the fuck alone" comes out as "Well, maybe. Sure. I guess I can see your point.""
joann414 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 The authors initials are DS, but can't remember the name of the damned book, and I refuse to cheat
Miles Long Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 You are correct on the initials. How about a hint...it's included in the authors latest offering.
joann414 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I know. All I can think is diabetes and owl. Stupidity moment, but I still refuse to google. lol
Miles Long Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 You basically have it joann414 there is no shame in using google to clarify your answer.
Miles Long Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Nope, joann414 is so hot she's practically on fire . Pun intended.
Palantir Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Maybe it's something about hell, otherwise I'm clueless on this one.
LJH Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Hell is not knowing lol. You guys are cruel LOL. Where are the easy ones so i can have a go?
Thorn Wilde Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Can we please have the answer so we can move on, maybe?
Andy78 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Since the answer is not forthcoming (and I also refuse to Google just to move us along), I'll give you guys this one until Miles makes a reappearance. This is one of my favourite lines in literature. "Someone once said that if it was raining brains then Roxy Robinson wouldn't even get wet."
Slytherin Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) I Think of a movie but I have no idea who wrote the book Edited August 17, 2013 by slytherin
Thorn Wilde Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 It's from Bugsy Malone, isn't it? I don't think that is anything but a musical...
Andy78 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 The musical is based on the book. You have half the answer, but who's the author?
Thorn Wilde Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 The musical is based on the book. You have half the answer, but who's the author? (It's acceptable to go look at the DVD cover, right?) Alan Parker wrote and directed the movie, and wrote a book too. The movie came out before the book, though, so it's hard to say whether one was based on the other. (The latter part of this information came from google.)
Andy78 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Oh. I always thought the book came out first - as the saying goes "you learn something new every day" Yeah, you are correct.
Thorn Wilde Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) Damn, that means I have to think of something... Give us a couple of minutes. Edited August 26, 2013 by Thorn Wilde
