Headstall Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It's a terrible name, and Dallas Dalby isn't much better. In fact it demonstrates particularly poor judgment on Buzz's part. Maybe Stef and Luke need to rethink their offer. Seriously... He's probably a plant anyway BW... where are you? 2

skinnydragon Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Tricksy! I like that word. Think I'm gonna steal it. 1
impunity Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Tricksy? Are you disputing my assertion? 1
Headstall Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Are you disputing my assertion? Not at all, ma'am. I just thought the word was funny... and that maybe you were into the wine, and meant 'tricky' 1

From "The Preppy Handbook", here's the 12 most popular Prep nicknames for boys are: Skip, Chip, Kip, Trip, Bif, Bunny (only in high society), Bink, Van, Win, Wog, Rocky, Jock 2

methodwriter85 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 There's a handbook for this sort of thing? I think I must have had some sort of deprived youth, with nothing instructive to read but literature, textbooks, and porn. It was a 1980 tongue-in-cheek guide about WASPy Northeastern culture, written by Brown alum Lisa Birnbaum. Meant as a mocking satire, it managed to become a big bestseller and helped spread the preppy culture around the rest of the country, much like Frank Zappa's Valley Girl tune spread the San Fernando Valley slang terms across the country. I learned about The Official Preppy Handbook while I was watching I Love the 80's on VH1 as a kid. Why am I not surprised that Mark has read the book? I'm betting that it was the closest thing 18-year old Mark had to a Bible. I really like the bite of JJs life. Do we know if JJ and Ella realize they Uncle/Niece? They are Jim and Rich's kids, right? They don't. Ella knows she's Rich's daughter, but JJ doesn't know he's Jim's son. It's been a closely guarded secret in Brad's generation, and no one in Will's generation knows. The only time it's been acknowledged was in Millennium, when Brad went off on Jim and said something along the lines about how he's been raising his son for 14 years. Hunh..... what do you suppose Zach was doing in Charlottesville, VA? Of course the flight wouldn't have gone from CHO to LAX since no way are there direct flights.... it would have hubbed through BNA or ATL or someplace like that, but I get the point. When I first read this chapter, I was honestly confused and didn't get what the CHO meant. 2
Kitt Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Is CHO the closest airport to Goodwell? Where has Elizabitch been living?
methodwriter85 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Goodwell is supposed to be somewhere in the Charlottesville region, so yes? Edited November 27, 2015 by methodwriter85
mmike1969 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Wow. I was thinking Chicago. Had I bothered to look it up on that Internet thing, I would of known it was Charlottesville Virginia. Zach was able to use a fake ID on that flight? Thanks TSA! 1
impunity Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Wow. I was thinking Chicago. Had I bothered to look it up on that Internet thing, I would of known it was Charlottesville Virginia. I didn't bother either. But I do know that Chicago has ORD and MDW.
Drew Espinosa Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) A while back, I decided to read the CAP Saga, but it has been this week that I've been able to devote some time to reading it. Well, I am hooked! And the best part is, I still have sixteen books to go! There won't be any withdrawals... then again, I wonder what will happen when I reach the latest chapter of Black Widow Oh, I also perused a bit, and I found this... One who lives in Texas. Those boys ain't right. Hard to argue that! lol Edited November 29, 2015 by Drew Espinosa 2
Mark Arbour Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Is CHO the closest airport to Goodwell? Where has Elizabitch been living? Yes and No. Yes, CHO is the closest airport to Goodwell. But No, that's not where Elizabeth Danfield lives. She's got her compound in DC.
methodwriter85 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) I'm going to admit, I really thought Goodwell was suppposed to be somewhere in Northern Virginia around the D.C. region until you told me that it was somewhere around Charlottesville during the 9/11 story. It does make sense though- NoVA people aren't really that Southern(the ones I've met from that region don't have an accent), while this family seems rooted around the Southern genteel mindset. Timothy M. Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 From ch. 21: I called Brent and must have woken him up, because he was groggy. “It’s three in the morning,” he grumbled. --- “Time to draw blood, Mr. Hayes,” a cute nurse said as she breezed into the room. “I didn’t know you had visitors.” --- I got back to the familiar house at six in the morning. What kind of hospital takes a blood sample around 4 am on a non-emergency patient ?? Weird... 1
