Thanksgiving was pretty good, but just SP and I; made a few new things that all turned out pretty good.

Giving into insanity and driving down to the City for Black Friday sales this morning [shudder]

Did you get anything good?

I didn't see anything in my area.   Found a few things online, but they weren't anything wild.  Just a bit of a sale price and since I'm needed them anyway ... Why not.

Spent way too much at LeCreuset lol -- but they had a huge markdown and we picked up several pieces we didn't already hve.

Hey tim

Other than my eyes feeling achy, because I’m tired I’m doing well.

Managed to find the right size turkey (5-7 kg) at Metro this morning, so that’s a bonus to my day.

Wishing you and Mike a wonderful day.

And, that goes for the rest of you lot as well.

:)

Thanks for asking. Yes, He's much better. We saw the specialist and they did a biopsy. Gave Him anti itch pills for day and night so He'd be more comfortable. The doctor also prescribed special cream for faces and folds and then a large tub of the Michael calls, medicated axle grease.  It's very thick. Also special cleansing oil and a moisturizer.

When we went back the doc said the biopsy shows it is eczema but a kind that is brought on by drugs. They think it could be the Janumet He takes.

He needs to fold himself into the bath several times each week and use the moisturizer. He's stopped taking the anti itch pills and seems to be doing okay.

The doctor said if you think it could be returning, see your doctor right away and discuss other medication options.

So, we'll see. Possibly, the bathing and creams will keep it at bay.

Yeah, i like that size turkey as well. We go to Michael's parents for Christmas dinner. MY MiL cooks two turkeys that size because they stay moister. And there's enough legs for all who want them.  LOL.

I thought he was broken before realizing the leg on the right is a back leg. Left is front. Really, Zeke, really?

My mom likes that size of turkey, because it holds more stuffing than a smaller bird. Which is important, because the stuffing tastes best when it’s cooked in the bird, so she says. I’m not sure if my taste buds are that discerning.

Two turkeys is a lot of turkeys. Then again, the men in Mike’s aren’t exactly on the smaller size.

We’ve just got the one big guy, so one turkey will suffice.

PS: Good to hear Mike’s doing better and has a good course of action to follow to ease the itching. 🤞🏻

Hey All

Thought I should pop in and say hello.

All good with me and Hubby.

Things are still hectic with work, hence me being absent alot. But I've got the next 3 days off as my sister is coming to visit.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

As it was just the two of us, for Thanksgiving SP and I just cooked two turkey thighs, cooked nestled on top of the mushroom stuffing. Turned out pretty good.

Going to be a long couple of weeks.  SP and I are taking off Thursday and Friday this week to go see, "A Drag Queen Christmas" -- right after a cold front moves through dropping the temps to below normal [guess that will make it feel like xmas :) ]; then next week we're off on Friday through Jan. 2nd for the Winter Break.

Lots for both of us to get done before the end of the semester.

Hope you all are doing okay.  I'm done with work now until the 27th.

Keeping busy knitting hats for charity. Gonna see if can master mittens .. i've knit a few pairs of fingerless ones with thumbs so a full mitt should be okay.

Anyway my days off will be filled with baking, and fudge making to be ready for the big day.

Isn't it nice to have a bit of time off with no job commitments?

My next scheduled move isn't till mid January. Barring emergency calls, I get time to decompress.

The "Drag Queen Christmas" was generally quite fun, even though the "meet and greet" was more of "get your picture in 10 seconds and move on".

One of the unexpected benefits of getting the VIP tickets (only because they were the only decent ones left) was being able to get there at 6pm -- and hour before general admission opened up.  That let us miss the {censored} protesters that were outside at 7pm.  Were quite a few police, and at least two cop cars there at all times. Trying to make sure none of the idiocy got too out of hand.  The cold also made sure they had all left by the time the event ended.

Evening at the hotel was WONDERFUL!  Both had a really good nights sleep.

It was nice evening, and even nicer to have some much-needed time together, just the two of us.

Enjoy your time off tim! Sounds like you'll be busy.

Kitt... take advantage of the decompression. You deserve it!

Fae, I'm glad you enjoyed your night out. It sounds like such fun!

I have my work Christmas party at my house tomorrow night. We might have to move it indoors due to the weather. I'll be cleaning all day regardless.

I'm looking forward to seeing my son and daughter-in-law. They're spending Xmas with her parents then coming here. Her mom and dad will be here too so we can meet them (they'll stay at a hotel, my inn is full). This will be the first year in a while that I'm planning a dinner for more than 5 or 6 people.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!
