At work, we use the Sanctuary Model of Trauma-Informed care. A part of that is to develop individualized safety plans. Something that can help you get control of your emotions when you realize you're becoming to overly emotional. Watching Capybara videos is part of my safety plan. Reminds me to embrace my inner Capybara.

greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice and zest, grated garlic, bit of black pepper, grated cucumber (then squeezed until dry as possible). i dont use salt because of health issues.  I think that's all .. mix it up. let it sit for a bit.

I make it without oil and lemon, but I add salt. No grated cucumber but cut in a small piece. It's because we are not making it as a sauce but as a salad and eat it with a spoon. I know that Greeks add dill, but we don't like it.

Okay, honestly… now some are saying white meat chicken causes cancer. Can we please stop giving animals crap and each other to eat?

I only buy corn-fed, free-range chicken. The problem is it’s about x3 the price of the awful white stuff that most supermarkets sell.  Yrs ago a school friend studying agriculture at university had to visit a battery farm. Turned out that the poor creatures were fed fish-based feed until last couple of weeks.  Need I say more.  Yes, I believe those of us who can afford it should always buy the free range etc. option because that is the only way the price will go down for those less fortunate.

apologies if I have offended anyone.

Shopping trips are at the edges of the store, with the rare foray into the middle. But no more ham, deli meat, bacon etc. I buy raised without hormones chicken and turkey.

I know someone who breeds pigs. Anytime I need bacon, ham or pork mince, I get it from him.

A few times, I've even helped him prepare the pork belly that would eventually become bacon, so I know what he adds to the meat.

Making bacon from scratch is certainly more labor-intensive, but well worth the trouble. 😋

Exactly!  I was once smuggled on to a USAF nuclear bomber base near Oxford ... perhaps I should tell the tale one day.. 😃

Sadly, the story I was writing for today is on hold.  COVID has struck. P is rather poorly; I’m awaiting my turn….
