There’s a lot of rainy days in the forecast - we need rain, so that’s good - with temps staying no higher than low 80s. Fingers crossed that’s what happens. 3 1

Right now its 90F with a feels like of 104 🥵 I had to work the 4th of July and had today off as my holiday. I ended up doing a small walk in the morning, and staying inside all day. The heat when I opened the door for the Wal-Mart delivery almost knocked me over. 2 1

I haven't seen rain since Wednesday but later this week we've got higher chances of afternoon thunderstorms. That's typical for this time of year. Stay cool. Maybe the mischievous pups will be too hot to get into trouble. If not then you might want to call the dog whisperer Cesar Milan. 5

Had a French colleague who could not believe that I was 65 without Botox. He told an enthralled staff table that he imported (illegally) Botox and self injected, “like anyone over 30”…… Students then found his indiscreet “modelling” web page! He left us. 5
Popular Post kbois Posted July 19, 2025 Popular Post Posted July 19, 2025 🥵🥵 Its current 93F with a heat index of 107F. I have the AC set at 74 and its 80 inside. Can't wait until the sun goes down. Hopefully by bedtime it'll be back down to 74. @Brayon and @spyke stay cool and hydrated.... they say tomorrow will be just as bad. @Mikiesboy could you please beg your husband to wave that cookie sheet? We're wilting. Our heat index is supposed to be 109F today, so I'm staying in my cave with the AC cranked down and the ceiling fan on medium. The only going outside for me will be lighting the grill to cook a steak. Alexa has been working overtime this week with her heat warnings. I know it's going to be worse for you and @Brayon so take care and stay inside. This heat is nothing to play with. 4 2 1
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted July 22, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 22, 2025 a Gloriously cool day... which means.. it's bread day, strawberry, apple and rhubarb crisp day and it's also Brain Day.. not Brian Day sadly... My brain well, that's a story all on its own, which i cannot write anyway...so if you know me, you'll likely be well versed in my brain issues, if you don't, you're better off.. in any case, look after your brain, it's kinda important... 9
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted July 22, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 22, 2025 I was given a giant doily. It was about 4 feet across, crocheted with size one or 'fine' wool. I pulled it apart and now have 400 grams of yarn which is about 1600 yards give or take a few yards. More for the collection but free. The giant doily was, 30 or so years ago, a christening blanket. 2 7

It's so much smaller than the regular sized ones. It's cute. Hook size was 2.5mm. Edited July 22, 2025 by Mikiesboy 1 4
