How about forgoing "normal" entirely? you're looking forward to having your routine back, not this three-day-long interruption of it. Because, yes. "Normal" sucks. 1 7

These days i just do what i can do. i don't beat myself up if my list isn't done at the end of the day. Like yesterday, my list was, make burger patties, make a quiche, make use up the leftover pizza with salad for dinner, wash and block some afghan squares i've been making, go for a walk. Well, the list didn't realize that i haven't been sleeping well, and i didn't Friday night. So what got done out of my list? Going for a walk, making the burger patties cuz the meat was in the fridge and dinner (Michael stepped in and helped me with this one). The quiche and the squares got put off until today. Just do what you can do. The rest will wait. Edited July 6, 2025 by Mikiesboy cuz you should not forget your Husband :) 10

However, your advice regarding lists and getting through the day, now with the challenge of insomnia on top everything else, is sound. I'm glad you're listening and doing what is best for you. @mollyhousemouse I hope you are able to do the same. Your best can vary from one day to the next, don't pressure yourself to meet lofty goals. And know that sometimes, getting out of bed can be a lofty goal. 6

Last week my best friend in Spain called us to say she was popping around. She entered and said, “Bad news, I’ve got inoperable pancreatic cancer.” Previously healthy as ….., non smoker, hardly drinks wine, exercises daily, excellent diet, a year until she was due to retire……. My conclusion, live each day as well as you can live it. Pressure, be it from outside or from within can sometimes be toxic. Hugs 8

Happy Chocolate Day, tim! Rather apropos I’m sitting here drinking hot chocolate-coffee. 😊 Though, I think my next one’s going to have to be iced as it’s going to be another scorcher today. Stay cool and take care. xoxo 1 7

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted July 7, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted July 7, 2025 When ya can't write...make afghan squares... these are currently being blocked while they dry. Just makes it easier to crochet them together. Wool has 'memory' so keeps it shape better than most acrylic yarns. But i use that too for various things. These are made with wool sock yarn. I just need to make a couple of hundred more than shown here. I do have other projects i should be doing .... oh well. 9

Today is the coolest day this week, so… Time to do it. They will sit in the freezer until needed. Plus that increases the resistant starch in the bread which is better for diabetics. 1 6
