@Bucket1 I'm currently working on a story about a bunch of Aussie kids. The "gang", as follows:

Budgie: A small, energetic kid with a tendency to be loud. He once wore an unfortunate pair of athletic shorts for a month, until they disappeared one day. Google swears they were snatched from the laundry line by a kookaburra. 🤣

Mango: This cheerful guy is always trying to make people smile, even (and especially when) things look gloomy. Probably the most empathetic boy of the bunch.

Teflon: Never gets blamed when things go sideways (and they usually do,) but he can also scrap with the best of them. He's the dependable kid who will always look out for his mates, no question.

Google and Bluetooth: These guys are cousins, unfortunately. Bluetooth never shuts up about some gossip he overheard at school, and Google consistently demands to know Bluetooth's sources. He usually regrets asking. 😆

Crash: Once walked into a glass door. After too many scrapes of his own, he's become quite good at patching up the other lads.

You do realize, though they are Australian kids, their names sound like Thai nicknames.

You do realize, Thai people don't have a monopoly on nicknames.  <_<

Crash would be a very Aussie nickname - you walk through one glass door, just one, and the name is yours for life

I read Tim Winton's Breath, and the name "Pikelet" left me a bit confused. "Wait, is the family's surname 'Pike', or could that be what the guys at the factory call the kid's dad? So, everyone basically calls him 'Pike, Jr' or something?" 🤷‍♂️

A pikelet is like a small pancake, the fluffy version not the crepe style.

As you can see you can add jam and cream or other toppings but my favourite is simple butter or butter and honey - that’s my Grandmother’s influence. She often made them as a treat for us - my sister and I “helped” or learnt how to cook them or just got in the way :)

Hi, Tink!  Feeling sorry for myself. Talked to my doctor earlier and he said this sinus thing could last a few more weeks. He won't put me on another antibiotic unless I get worse. :(

Gross but not a surprise. Sinus infections do seem to stick around a bit :(

‘I am taking the fact of no more antibiotics as a good sign - yes you might be frustrated by how long it’s taking but the doc is saying you are on the mend :)
