Rhubarb doesn’t exist here, sadly. Another visit to the Guardia Civil and completed paperwork for bank insurance claim. No queue and a charming, sympathetic officer. 👮 2 4

I think it’s a pretty hardy plant as it’s been growing for decades, and we haven’t had to do anything to encourage its growth. We usually add strawberries to the mix, so our pies aren’t straight rhubarb. Oh, and the excitement tonight was a 2 1/2 power outage. Don’t know the cause as yet. I’m hoping all the ACs that were running today as the heat will be back tomorrow, apparently. *fingers crossed* tim, I hope you’re doing okay with the heat as I’m pretty sure what I get, you’re getting. 4 3

Luckily, the night wax just starting to cool off, so heat was not an issue. Also, my mom wax told when she called Hydro, the power would be restored between 12 am and 2 am, so it was a very welcome surprise when it did go back on. After just 2 1\2 hours. Apples added to the rhubarb and strawbwrries sounds tasty. 🙂 2 4
Mikiesboy Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 Happy Sunday aka World Lion Day. ... no i did not say World Lying Day, which i don't think is a thing and shouldn't be, but there is Tell a Lie Day which happens just after April Fools Day and is supposed to be fun. Personally not a fan of April Fools or now, Tell a Lie Day. Anyway.. here's the reason for this day... Keep cool if you're somewhere hot.. 1 4
Popular Post Wayne Gray Posted August 10, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 10, 2025 you should be able to grow rhubarb, tim. My grandmother grew it in Kentucky, and your description of your weather sounds a lot like what I remember from my youth in the bluegrass state. Give it a shot, particularly if it costs more than meat! 6 1

Give it a shot, particularly if it costs more than meat! My mum grew it in our backyard when i was a kid. I talked to Dan and looked up the best times to plant. You can plant it in late fall, but Dan isn't thrilled with that idea, so we'll go for the early spring option. He has a garden plan, so added rhubarb to it. Your youth...lol, sorry made me laugh. Not really sorry.. Edited August 10, 2025 by Mikiesboy 5 2
