Ok my turn. I am a broken 65 yr old married 45 years ( yes to the same guy) and a mom of one. Some of you know her as she is also a member here, Winged Wolf.

I am working on my fourth career as a small business owner transporting horses, although i have also moved a few cows, goats, pot bellied pigs, and one alpaca. Careers 2 thru 4 overlap in spots. Started with 20 yrs in QC/R&D for a refractory company. (High tech bricks to line steel furnaces and glass tanks). Next i did child care lunch hours and before and after school for about 15 yrs. Overlapping that when Wings asked for riding lessons I got sucked back into the horse world where i started teaching riding and eventually wound up barn manager. It became too much so I left child care to run the barn full time. Along the ride i bought my first trailer and LLC. Now that I am old and broken ( too many stupid horses in my past) I stepped back and focus on mt hauling business, which is up to 4 trailers and 4 drivers.

I love to read, cook, and craft.

Interesting... i had an Iranian friend and they made their 'celebration' rice .. basmati first cook in the usual way.. then it's drained...oil added to the pot and rice put back until the bottom was crispy.. omg it was so good.

i find these similarities in cooking and food interesting.

From an Iraqi friend: in a NON-STICK saucepan, one cup of rinsed, washed, rinsed and washed, rinsed and washed, etc. basmati, one cup of water, one tablespoon of olive oil, saffron sachet, a teaspoon of salt ( or less in today’s world).  Bring to boil. Immediately start to lower heat bit by bit so it never boils too much.      When done the rice is cooked tip out onto a plate.  There will be crispy “overdone” rice at the bottom. Those in the know fight for this part.   I add a bit more water for cowardice sake….

Nadia is an amazing cook.

Tuesday. Hope it's a good one. Woke up with a stinking headache myself. Not my fav way to start a day.  Could be the poor air quality we've had for the last few days.

At least we get badness one thing at a time. The humidity has been lower but we have poor air to breath. Yay.

Anyway. Onwards and upwards. Have a good one.

I hope the headache resolves itself soon.  I have a history of migraines and wouldn't wish them on anyone.

Thanks. Headaches are horrible. I don't have migraines but know people that do.  Mine with pass with me getting up and doing things, a shower and some drugs.

Have a good day, Cassie.

I hope you feel better hon!

I've been enjoying the nice New England weather. Its been warm (70s/80s) so far with low humidity.

Today is the last day my older boy and his wife will be here. We're going over my best friend's house tonight for pizza and game night. Then they are headed out to upstate New York for the rest of the week to do some hiking and sightseeing

Have a good day everyone!

Thank you!  I'm glad the weather is being nice to you.  Enjoy the pizza!
