Natty is having a laugh at me, I think… 2
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 1 Author Popular Post Posted March 1 Happy Sunday and March 1. It's sunny here but icy cold, we are at our high of 18F. Our friend fell last night on her replaced knee and had to go to hospital. We have our fav dog here while she recovers a bit. She called and nothing is broken, just very sore. She's got food in and we'll keep the pup for a few days. Hope you are all doing okay. Happy Sunday. 1 3 2

Sorry to hear about your friend, tim, though I’m glad it seems to not be too serious (I hope). Im sure she feels much better knowing her pooch is in safe hands. The snow is disappearing nicely - thank you sun in a cloudless sky - so I think it will be all gone by tomorrow. It’s 18F for me as well, but the sun makes it feel warmer, which I don’t mind one bit. Hope everyone has a great day! 1 5

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 2 Author Popular Post Posted March 2 Happy Monday... just looking after the hound, house, and husband.. haha an alliterative day! I've written one short story that may work for the oct antho. i hope to have something longer for that too, as well, i've started on a second part of the Scallopini'd Mayor, which some people asked me for. And the other thing is still being edited, it's me, not my editor. i suppose I should look at the rest of that too. So, all good so far. It's sunny but cold but that's why i have coats. Have a good one folks!! 1 5
Popular Post kbois Posted March 2 Popular Post Posted March 2 Had my annual eye doctor appointment today. (Everything looks good). So of course, the one day I have to have my eyes to dilated, instead of being cloudy and overcast like it has been nearly every day since November, its bright and sunny (which...yay!). I stepped outside and thought I was going blind for a few seconds until I fumbled open the roll up sunglasses they hand you and stuffed them between my eyes and my glasses. LOL. I guess they hand them out for a reason. Today was a busy day. I made two quiches, one with onions, peppers and mushrooms and another one with kielbasa and sauteed onions. The eye appointment took way longer than I thought it would so I just managed to get the beef roast in the oven in time for us to eat at a reasonable time. Dinner is eye round roast, baked potatoes and asparagus. Banana cream pie for dessert. Have a good night everyone! 1 5 1
Popular Post Gary L Posted March 2 Popular Post Posted March 2 Slowly preparing for our escape from Las Fallas noise on Thursday. Overnight in Ávila and then another long drive to NW Spain. All this for Greta’s sake. We had to go away last year as well. She is traumatized by the noise of the bands, firecrackers at all hours etc etc. Lilibeth is totally uninterested and unaffected by her sister running hysterically around the apartment. Weird, no? have a good week everyone xxxx 1 5
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 3 Author Popular Post Posted March 3 Happy Tuesday ... today, more dog sitting, a walk to the bank for an appointment to sign something, buying some eggs and then hopefully more writing and knitting. Have a good one, folks. 2 5
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 4 Author Popular Post Posted March 4 Happy Wednesday! Just found out the dog is staying for another week until after his mom's doctor visit. We need to go over and get food for him later. That's fine. He's 13 and has so stiff joints and things but insists on jumping around. He hurts himself when he does that...we try to keep him calm. Crazy mutt. Anyway, have a good day, whatever you're doing. It's gonna be nice here today.. 40f and sunny. 1 5
Gary L Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Seven continuous days of rain for our trip to Galicia . Tomorrow sixhour journey to Ávila, home of the first female doctor of the Catholic Church. (Doctrine not medicine!). An amazing woman in a man’s world. Then on Friday six more to edges of the Bay of Biscay which fans of Mark Arbour’s Bridgemont novels will know well! Dogs will have a garden of over 1,000 sq metres to play in… in the rain 😭 1 4

Popular Post kbois Posted March 6 Popular Post Posted March 6 1 hour ago, Kitt said: Happy Friday So far it is a happy Friday. I had a good experience yesterday with a retailer. I haven't had contacts to wear since right before we moved. I finally went to the opthalmologist last week because my primary told me I had to go. All was fine and dandy with the eyes. However, when I mentioned I wanted to get a new script for contacts, the doctor said he didn't do that and I would need to make an appointment with an optometrist. Well.. I know firsthand how long it takes to get appointments around here. So I decided to try Walmart, which is where I went in Florida. After trying for 3 days, I finally got through to the right person for appointments only to be told that the vision center takes our insurance but the doctor doesn't and I would have to pay $150 for an exam. I said no thanks, I just had a complete exam and only need to get an updated script for contacts. So, yesterday I went online to the insurance company's site to find a doctor. Saw one that books online appointments. Lo and behold the location near my work had a same day appointment available. Booked it. Went on my lunch and let me tell you, every single person I dealt with was pleasant and efficient. I was in and out in under an hour. Sent home with contacts to try. They took care of ordering more to be delivered to the house. Best part of all.... insurance covered all but $50 of a year's supply of contacts and the girl placing the order gave me a rebate form which will give me $100 back. I'm getting paid for the contacts lol. Score one for kbois! Have a good day everyone! 1 6

Happy Saturday...thanks for reading this. I posted the poems i wrote for the antho today too. Part two of The Scallopini-ed Mayor will post in the next while too, once it's all edited and fixed up. That was fun to write... it may become a little series of supernatural cases. Have a good day, everyone. Thanks again. 6
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 7 Author Popular Post Posted March 7 Went out for a walk this afternoon...and saw something kinda cool. It seems it's called sublimation. Here's the explanation, this occurs when snow or ice turns directly into water vapour (gas) without melting into liquid water first. While usually invisible, under the right conditions, you can see this "vapour" (technically, a mix of very cold air and tiny water droplets) rising from the snowbank, often looking like smoke or steam. I've never seen it before outside, and of course, i did not bring my phone with me. 5 1
