Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted March 16 Author Popular Post Posted March 16 Okay, Happy Monday. Here is a pic of my latest creation... a scarf knit with the yak yarn. Here, this has been washed and left to dry. It is so soft and not scratchy at all. I'm happy with it. I have enough yarn left to make something else, but it makes a great, soft fabric with excellent drape. I'm very happy. 7

I should mention it is the Easy Goes It scarf/shawl by Michelle Higgins of Finicky Creations. The pattern is free, and you can find it here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-goes-it 3

Let us give thanks to the yak who sacrificed his hair for this beautiful creation. Well done, my friend! I had to drop my SUV off this morning to get it repaired. I had a fender bender last week, totally my fault. I zoned out and instead of hitting the brake, I hit the gas and smacked into a parked car as I was parking. I had a medication adjustment and had taken the new dose the day before and it hit me like a mack truck. I shouldn't have been driving, but my brain never got the memo. Luckily no one was in the other car and it's not super bad damage. Anyways, I brought the car in for repairs and the insurance company arranged for a rental. They were surprisingly amazing to work with. The whole claims process was quick and they took care of all the paperwork electronically. So the guy from the rental car place brings me back to their office and I chatted him up on the ride cuz he was really nice. We get back there and he has me sign everything and then says... "Hold on, I want to check something" and goes and talks to another guy. Next thing I know, he's upgraded me to a BMW SUV!! It's definitely above my pay grade, but hey .. I've got a sweet ride for the next few days! Have a good one, everybody! 6

Mikiesboy Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 This is the beginning of the Hitchhiker's Scarf. So named because of the 42 'teeth' it will have. In the book Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "42" is the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything." The pattern is by Martina Behm. I'm using some yarn I got when i took apart a knit blanket that my MIL had for years but did not want. I got about 1600 yards of fine cream coloured wool from it. 1 4
