The captain has informed us that there is a ....... thing.......with the plane and will advise us as to when we can begin boarding. Thankfully not my flight. But really, a thing? Thats a new one for me. 😳 One leg down, one to go. Have a good day everyone! Thing.. thing is a good word for things we cannot mention. Are you coming home already? 4 1

The last one was made with tomatillos instead of tomatoes (because we had them to use up), peaches for a bit of sweetness, apple cider vinegar, and some other witchcraft I don't know about. It didn't last long. We destroyed six pints of it and mourned the two we gave away to friends. LOL Oh, that sounds nice. My mom used to make pickled peaches, they were so nice. I've never tried making things like that. Canning things (note the word THING here) freaks me out. i think i'm going to poison someone. I have made jam, but not for a long time. I used to help Mom make jam and marmalade, and she made the peaches and dill pickles etc. But homemade ketchup sounds very nice .. @Kitt and @Wayne Gray 6

My grandma used to do it all the time, until one of the jars exploded on her. She was taking it out of the water to let it cool on a cooling rack, and it blew up going everywhere. Luckily she wasn't hurt from the glass breaking. 3 3

That's all that we can do. Only control the things within our control. But it's easier said than done. That's a lesson I'm still trying to learn. 6

My husband makes sure to heat the jar clampy thing that grabs them so they don't blow up on us. We've not had one pop during that transfer, but we've had them crack while cooling. That's always a bummer. 2 5

Options abound! yeah, i'm pretty good at freezing stuff... i made baked beans yesterday, along with eggplant lasagna, meat sauce for said lasagna and apple brownies (these are VERY popular around here) and the baked beans were packaged up and frozen. i will make and freeze some stuffed peppers when the peppers are in season, i freeze onions, celery, chopped peppers and i keep ginger root, garlic and nuts in the freezer so i have things on hand when cooking. We won't necessarily use up the whole bag of onions when they are fresh, so freezing works. And when i ordered one bulb of garlic from the delivery place, and they send me a kilo of garlic bulbs, i froze them too. lol It's nice here today.. i have an appointment soon with the shrink, groceries and then dog walking. It would take me a long time to use that much garlic, hopefully it will hold up well after being frozen, after harvested. But actually it does get frozen many times when it is in the ground during winter and in spring while growing. 3

They decided to buy ingredients in the market and following a recipe in a book added garlic - an entire bulb instead of one clove….. “Encore de papel de toilette, si vous plait….” 4

It changes in the freezer, but it's nice and mild and has the texture of butter after it's been out for a few minutes. 4
