Popular Post kbois Posted Wednesday at 02:28 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 02:28 PM The other morning my husband saw a coyote on the next street over from ours. So, we've been going outside with our little 17 year old, mostly blind and deaf little Camden. Last night hubby goes out with him and is puttering in the yard while Camden does his business. He catches a movement out of the corner of his eye, over at the fence. He turns, looks, grabs Camden and hauls ass into the house. Our middle-class neighborhood has a new resident. He or she likes suet. We will no longer be providing it to the buffet. I think the birds and squirrels will report us to their union when they should be taking their concerns to the ursine consortium. We are merely protecting life and limb. I told my husband ...we live in suburbia, not the effing Hundred Acre Woods! Scram Pooh! 2 9

We should stop flattering ourselves by saying how intelligent we are. I have seen too much, dealt with too much. Nothing applies to them, for example, oh don't drink and drive doesn't apply to me, I can hold my booze. Yeah, keep saying that as I search your bloody smashed up body for your ID, so I can go visit your family and explain why you are never coming home again. I'm sure most of us who have ever worked with people, in whatever capacity, can say the same, or similar things. It's too bad your manager was out of the office. Yeah, you don't need to be committing fraud. Sometimes, sorry nope is the only answer we can give. It was good of you to give her some info, that's great service. At some point, most of us learn (usually via the school of hard knocks) that we need to be more on top of things and to not procrastinate. Hopefully, this woman realized her mistakes and doesn't make the same ones in the future. One doesn't really need to be a first responders or some service industry to see the entitlement. Drive down an interstate. Seems those white signs that say "speed limit" are mearly suggestions, as are the big red ones in suburbia. You know, the ones that say "stop"? Amazing picture tho.. but wow, that's craziness. We have seen a 7 point buck here and we are in the city and foxes and coyotes but not a bear. That is just wild. I'm glad Paul and Camden are okay. 8

I told my husband ...we live in suburbia, not the effing Hundred Acre Woods! Scram Pooh! All of "suburbia" is now Wild Kingdom. We've built up so much that they've been displaced from their natural habitat. I live in a neighborhood with mature trees and landscaping within the city limits. We have deer, foxes, opossum, raccoons, the occasional bear and her cub(s), and the occasional coyote. While they are beautiful to witness, I prefer to keep a long and safe distance. I used to walk very early in the morning to escape the southern heat. I no longer do that because of the many times I came across wildlife in the pre-dawn hours. It is crazy how much new building some areas are doing. Many areas in Florida are unrecognizable now because of all the shopping centers and residential communities they've built. What's surprising to me is that where I live now has already been built up. There's not many areas that can be developed. That all happened from the 1950s to 1980s. I think conservation practices and wildlife protection laws have enabled the bear, deer, and coyote populations to rebound from being nearly wiped out in the early to mid 1900s. People need to learn to keep their trash and recycle bins in their garages or shed. Just about everyone has them. There's also the idiots who leave food out for wildlife. Granted I'm guilty of throwing the occasional lettuce scraps out for the bunnies, but thats about it. There are plenty of bozos who put out dog food for the trash pandas and it ends up attracting all sorts of vermin. Here's another picture of my local Pooh Bear. My friend thought it was AI. NOPE! We threw out the rest of the suet and we've been out of bird seed for a few weeks. So Pooh may stop by but won't find anything. Hopefully the raspberry and blackberry bushes will escape unscathed when the crop ripens 🤞 4 1
