The Monday After ... oooh could be a title…  Anyway, after a lovely weekend. We ended up at a nice party on Saturday and went for a visit on Sunday, and walked a lot.  The weather was perfect.  Hope everyone got to do something nice as well.

Happy Tuesday. 

i am just want to say to friends here whose work i usually read...i will. I'm struggling a bit with reading much of anything and while a few weeks ago i could read and was writing A LOT, i'm lucky if i can get thru a sentence.. and then i reread them i just delete them. 

i think if i could look at my brain (and i dont want to) it would be scrambled eggs.   So i just want to say i have not forgotten you and i'll get there eventually. 

Now have a good day.

These constant med changes are the culprit. Be patient, keep getting out for exercise and fresh air. Dinner's on me tonight. You take it easy.

So far so good! Cooked ‘arroz al horno’ on Sunday.  A rice dish baked in the oven with different pork cuts and black pudding, topped with potatoes and tomato. Quite filling! Rice and potatoes together sounds awful, I know, but it’s the ultimate comfort food.   
 

only 30 pages  of instructions left to read 😱

I'd eat that. I'd have to watch the rice and potato, but it sounds delicious.

tim, don't worry about reading or writing right now. The work will be there for you when you're ready - both your own and that of others.

Back from the dentist...it was a looooong appt.  I now have a temp cap and my permanent one will be put on next Thursday.  So, no flossing there, no water pik, no sticky food (which i don't eat often so i don't care) etc etc for the next week.  I'll be eating lots of fruit, overnight oats and stuff. I'm happy with that. I'm not the biggest meat eater and really don't care if i have any.

They say bad things happen in threes. It's been more than that. I think we're on our third or fourth round of three since I moved back to Mass. 

We moved up here to help out my mother-in-law, who had gotten to the point where it wasn't safe for her to live alone. 

Fine. Hubs moved 10 months before me for various reasons, then I decided to come back last August. We are living at her house. 

I'm telling you, this effing abode is trying to crush our soul, destroy our spirit and completely annihilate the last tenuous thread of our sanity. 

Just in the past month alone, the dryer died and had to be replaced, and the washing machine is currently sitting there forlorn as it waits for new door parts to arrive so it can be repaired. 

This comes after needing a new microwave and stove, the garage door cable snapping, being repaired to the tune of $900, and then it started acting up and smoking two weeks later. Oh...and the back door wouldn't close without slamming it so the whole doorknob needed replacing and at some point the screen door closer broke too. The AC wasn't cooling the house well. Turns out no one ever thought to change the filter. WTF? 

The final straw last night.... the hot water heater quit. We tried relighting the pilot light to no avail. No go. I ended up packing a bag with everything I needed to shower at work. 

If anyone needs me, I'll be in my blanket fort, rocking back and forth, sucking my thumb. 

I quit.

That's rough.  Sounds like MIL wasn't able to keep up with house maintenance and it's all coming up at once.

It's Friday. I decided to skip going to the grocery store cuz really the only things we need are cream, eggs and apples. Michael said to wait and we'll go together tomorrow. I'm going to try and think about meals for next week cuz it's going to be very hot. 

I was at the store for bits and pieces on Wednesday and Thursday. I made overnight oats for my breakfast today rather than toast, which worked out well. I'll keep on doing that. Mainly because it felt healthier.  Usually i cook an egg every morning, i think in the summer I will hard-boil eggs and eat the cool oats instead. Less cooking and cooler. 

Ok. I came on here to say happy Friday and I end up babbling. Have a good day, everyone.

That's exactly what happened. None of her local children had the brains to think that maybe, just maybe there might be things that need to be looked at.
