They eat close to their own weight in bugs every night. Around here we put up bat boxes and invite them!

As for Gators here in Florida, the saying is, "If you see a body of water, from a puddle to a lake, if it's wet assume there's a Gator in it." But also remember, in the second grade, they taught us Gator survival skills.
