Truth in words... As always Sir, I applaud your honesty. Your poem certainly belongs on this site. Deception abound!

So powerful. Your concise words taste of the feelings I have regarding this false-world we live online. The line about "true intentions hide behind software" really strikes home. I've been feeling all of these things you write about, and conjured a concept for a poem, but the few people I've told about that concept reacted with horror. IDK, I still think I'll need to write it someday. 

Thanks for posting this, my friend. Really said with grave beauty. I'm in awe 

And who pays?  I understand misunderstandings, sometimes you can't come back from that ... but when done with glee, with superiority, with the intention to hurt .. why?  Mac, this piece just shut me up .. pushed me back and made me think. Thank you. 

This is powerful. Also, a sad commentary on our lives. How many have killed themselves because of cruelty experienced online. There is so much negativity online.  Monsters sit behind too many screens, waiting. Trolls sit behind even more screens enjoying the pain they cause. I, fuelled with one beer too many have said things I shouldn't have. I learned my lesson ... I've worked things out with the person I frightened.

Great piece. great title and it needs saying. Great job, Mac.

jp, what happened should never have happened. Not a thing I can do about it except write a poem. I hope the right person reads it and that people really give the message some thought and take it to heart. I'm tired of hearing about and seeing friends getting hurt. Take care, boy, and know that I'm near. 

tim asked 'who pays?' in some ways, we all do, (except those who did the foul deed-they don't care and rejoice in the pain they leave in their wake.) we are in pain because people we love and care about are hurting. some are in the crossfire and become collateral damage. we question things, comments, writings, 'did they mean that? or are messing with me?' innocence and friendship are gone.

Reading this poem felt like introspection...your words were not only true but powerful...making a person reflect on the words consciously or unconsciously spoken...

What I esp liked was your observation on virtual lives of today's generation..

You write an enormously powerful poem here. Taste your words before you spit them out. What a perfect line. It should be posted on every classroom door, but then we'd miss the next line  - consider the impact of their flavor.  This is the marvelous core to this poem. Digital screens turned into masks...more awesome images. This poem is a must read.
