Poems and Short Quips - 33. Foothold in the Fog

Never, Mac. You never give in. 

This is, unfortunately, a place many of us have known and yet never deserved.

I'm hopeful the fog will clear, Mac.

I truly hope things get better for you, Mac. For me, that storm is still raging years later.

you never give up never admit defeat as long as you have a breath things will get better. In life we have highs and lows but why? Then i figured it out we have to have both to appreciate life. i’m sorry things are bleak for you right now. The one bright spot you need to hold on to is that you are loved by many. 
Defeat is easy it’s giving up - but just think how sweet life will be when you WIn?

The 'love' icon is not because i am happy for Your pain, it is because You have written of it, shared it.

It is easy to tell others they should be well by now, or giving in is the easy way. Giving in is never easy, but sometimes it's necessary to give in to the pain and anger we feel. Sometimes it makes us quiet and ghostly. Sometimes we need to feel what we feel.

But in time hopefully life starts to have some meaning again. It can start small, like crocus pushing first through the soil in spring, in the same way we start to see again. And these small things bring us a smile.

That you wrote this poem, to me, and I hope for You, is one of the small things.

I am sad for the hurt you endure. You express it well enough that I, too, feel your ache. My hand and heart go out to you. 

Hurt never really goes away, we adjust to it and move on. 

Lean on us. We are here for you.

Being able to discuss the pain is the first step towards moving on from it. Being able to discuss it eloquently means you have finally walked all the way around it, and seen every side. Here is where you start anew.

As you have done here. It's the right direction to be moving.
