Please Vote

I just want to urge anyone who lives in Maryland, DC or Virginia to remember to go vote today. This election is too important not to go do something. No matter who you support, or what your views are, go cast a vote. The polls open at 6AM and don't close until 7PM in Virginia. In Maryland and DC the polls are open from 7AM to 8PM.

In Defense of Hate

Hate has a bad rap. For generations the Christian church have sought to discourage it. Lately it has become politically incorrect.   Hate is one of the most basic and powerful emotions. It's also one of the most honest if you understand where it comes from.   In studying apes, our closest biological relatives, they have two basic emotions: yikes and goody. All the rest of their emotional states are somewhere in between. Goody we can all understand. It's the reaction to spending time with our

Updates, and old crushes

Updates updates updates...   Wonky eared bastard from previous post. He's still annoying and still around, but I'll have my moment of retribution yet. he came in with his boss over the weekend and tried sneakery to change things. I hate when vendors do that, absolutely hate it.   Classes are going good, the winter inter-session concludes this Thursday. Taking a sixteen week course in six weeks has been interesting, stressful, but interesting. I dunno I thought it would be cake, turns out

Where to start

I decided to start my blog tonight. There's not much going on here. I just finished a block of my classes which means that I am starting two new classes, Cultural Diversity and Environmental Science. I already have a problem with Cultural Diversity. I realize that there are other groups with struggles in the past and present, but nothing in the syllabus suggests that this course discusses the GLBT community at all. I do not like that at all.   In other news, I'm still working on Chapter 10 o

The Rantings of an Over Worked Writer

It's hot, my muses have deserted me and a plot bunny has firm hold of my butt....Life sucks.... Good thing is that I'm just about done with a ficlet collection that I started last year sometime. Its a fanfiction ficlet collection, but rather fun to write. Even if the last three are making me slam my head against my desk top several times in fustration. They just won't come out right!! Another good thing is that I'm also getting the first draft of my Anthology submission written out...yay me...

Felt Like Sharing

A good friend of mine introduced this to me a while back. Every now and then I kinda stumble back across it cleaning my room/computer/journal/whatever and it makes me feel a lot better and kinda puts me back on the right track. I'm not much for prayer, but I do like good advice. Anyway, you can wiki this if you wanna know more about it, but it's entitled "Desiderata", translating from Latin to "desired things" in English. My favorite line is in bold: "With all its sham, drudgery, and broken

In need of a Beta reader

I have my anthology story completed. Which is little wonder, since it is more or less an edited version of a story I wrote two years ago. But I think I'd like the advice of someone else on this one, so I thought I'd put the call out there.   In other news, I am all better. Therefore, I have probably already caught the virus that cause my next round of illness. Also, I am up at 6 am. Make that, I am still up at 6. My work ahs affected my life cycle more completely and quicker than I would have

If you are against Homophobia

something that I found on Damien1905's journal on Deviant Art. It's something that I've seen all over the next, with various lines. Some have been repeated, but that's not my fault, since I got this list from two different places. THERE IS MENTION OF DEATH AND ABUSE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.     I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman. I am the sister who hold

My time so far...

So far, I like it here. The people are much more friendly than other forums and actually answer you. I rather like the change of pace. This blog, besides other parts, will be a good place to find out what I'm working on, and what has been posted.

Some thoughts

As I sit here at my computer, at my desk, I can't help but think over the last few days, even as my ankle swells because I hut it earlier. And I can't help but say, that sometimes, life sucks. Really, really sucks. I'm in pain, I have a cold...and I'm finding out that most of my favorite vidoes have been deleted from youtube. Is that happening to you?

It's over!

The final chapter of The Pastel Cowboy has been posted and all the strings were tied into pretty bows.   There are five more chapters of Tim and the Corsair, which will be posted in the next couple months.   Unfortunately, the Kevin project or whatever else is to follow Tim is still in the development stage, or worse.   My life right now has been reduced to what happens today, or worse, what happens this moment.   A good day means exercising, bathing, putting on clothes, and going out of

Relativism

Hi Everyone,   This is from the Disturbing Trend thread in the Lounge that Jamie posted.   I find this topic endlessly interesting so I decided to post my response in here as well. Hopefully you guys will let me know what you think about this topic!     ___________________________________________     **sigh**   This is gonna be long...   **enter the relativist**   Well, despite the fact that I usually tend to agree with Jamie and Menzo, I'm going to have to vehemently disa

Sick. Yes, again.

I'm sick, so screw proper diction.   If it wasn't for the ever changing symptoms, I would be worried that I was simply staying sick, never actually beating it off completely. I also realized where I am picking up these little bits of joy. My second job involves interacting with people that come to Southern California from all over the country. I'm a lightening rod for illness, so it is little wonder that I am picking up a complete selection of this countries flu strains, one after another.

In Therapy

Okay, this is the deal:   I'm working on why my mother's death threw me into a major depressive episode that came within a hair's breadth of resulting in an exit attempt. I think the only reason I don't try harder is that some part of me thinks everything will work out for the better. Also, I don't like pain and while being run over by a truck is certain to cause death, it might not be immediate. Hypothermia is still my means of choice, but I didn't do that either. Why I don't know.   We're

to new beginnings...

It's February now, officially, even if it is only 2:24 a.m. and I'm waiting for Rich to get home from work for the second time today. I keep smiling to myself, and not those small little smiles that you can sort of subdue if need be, but the uncontrollable, nothing-is-gonna-be-able-to-get-this-thing-off-my-face kind. I'm sure that has everything to do with the fact that Jeff is probably hugging the boy he loves for the first time right now and that I thought of something great to do when Steve

The boys I love

So this blog's going to be kinda gossipy and I doubt it'll be particularly relevant to anyone but me, but anyway...   Life's been fantastic lately, even for me. I really can't remember the last time had so much fun crammed into two months (or however long this little bright patch has been going now...might be three...anyway...). The only downside is that I've been having so much fun and partying so much that *gasp* it actually kinda started to catch up with me. LOL, I think the last time I

I hate this Fing Blog.

So no matter what, but whenever I post about a certain topic in here, it all goes to hell. And as much as I'd really like to post about that topic, I'm going to refrain because it's a pain in the ass and if it all goes to hell like it has in the past, then I'm going to be pissed. Royally. So if you know what I'm talking about, don't comment it in because I'm superstitious like that   Anyways, I don't know how long it's been since I last posted, but I assume it wasn't too long ago and I'm post

Snakes and such

Return of the odd dreams. The last time we visited my cracked out subconscious, there were meteors and the world breaking up into little islands in space. This go around snakes. Not on a plane. Samuel L. Jackson wasn't there in as his slick line goodness. Just the snake, in my top dresser drawer. It was dark green like a broad tropical leaf, and its length was plastered with reddish brown diamonds. Yes it had a rattle.   I had a pair of tongs, and an old pillow case.   For the mo

Big Time Blahs

I'm not working on the Kevin project.   I've written a couple blog entries, but nothing else.   It's been a week since my prescription was upped to 40mg and I'm finally coming out of the fog. I've been asleep for most of the time, but I sleep fitfully.   The Pastel Cowboy is coming to a close. One more chapter, but the Kevin project is not ready to launch.   Tim and the Corsair has five more chapters, but I don't think the Kevin project will be ready to launch at that time, either.   I

Cousins and Stuff

So today some really huge issues came up and I am really at a loss as to further course of action. I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that I have to take serious action regarding these issues, because I know I can't just let them lie. If I do, I may end up with regrets that I'm just not willing to live with. One of these involves a sorta.... well.... let's say that it's within the realm of those few and far between things I just can't talk about on my blog due to possible legal repercussions
