    Steve has climbed into his cave and don't wake him up until the end of April.  I think it it is @Slytherin's turn to stay awake this winter   That bear just happens to be the colour of outdoors.  We got dumped on the past week. No road lanes, no sidewalks, no nothing. All buried in snow. It is beautiful if you don't need to go out into it  Also, the temperature dropped into the minus celsius without windchill  Winter is here, I hereby declare. May you all share the wonder of it

Okay, so tonight I celebrated my 32nd birthday with my niece who just turned 23. (She was born the day before my 9th birthday- I on December 7th and she on December 6th.) My family has been doing joint birthdays for us forever. This year, we were having it at Red Robin. So it's me, my mom, 2 sisters, 2 brother-in-laws, 3 nieces, and 2 nephews. Bipolar Bureaucratic Blues

I’m still waiting for a referral from the agency that handles outside referrals for the VA to see a psychiatric or psychological professional because my VA psychiatrist said she can no longer see me long-term, per VA directive. The agency that sets up appointments called me before Thanksgiving to say they would find someone (probably an ARNP) to handle my case. Holiday Time

Sailing

I spent a few hours sailing today and it was bloody awesome...       The yacht was a Beneteau 40 foot, and it was great to have the wind in my face as we sailed in the large harbour, with an average of 15 knot apparent winds.   The Shipwreck in the background,  in the first photo is the Cheyes II, one of the last Whaling ships in Australia.

Status report

Tonight, I started the first chapter of a new story. The working title is “The Black Scandinavian.” The lead character, Troy, comes from the last chapter of “319 Winesap Lane.” Yes, that book is finished, although two chapters remain to be published. (hint, hint, Sharon!) A Win in the Gym

GRL 2017

Hiya, all.   So, I've been asked a few times about my trip to Denver for GayRomLit 2017. I thought it might just be easier to post a blog about it. There were a few disappointments related to my trip, but I'm trying not to focus on those too much.   Overall, it was a rewarding trip and I met a lot of people over the 5 days that I was in Denver. So much to do

Well, it’s official. I have now entered old age.   Last Thursday, I went to the VA medical center in Seattle to see an ophthalmologist about a previous bleeder on my left retina. Luckily, there was no evidence that it had re-occurred. Unfortunately, the cataract in my right eye has worsened to where it is now operable and I will be going under the knife sometime next month.   During the past couple months, I’ve had a esophageal barium exam and a laryngoscopy to determine why

Halloween Loop 2017

Last night I went on the Wilmington Halloween Bar Loop, for my 4th year doing it. It was a really good time- I flew solo again and dropped about 59 dollars total on Uber. (My belief has always been paying 50 to 100 dollars on a cab ride is much, much cheaper than a DUI.)   I hit up Chelsea Tavern, Ernest and Scott Taproom, a Mexican bar, Trolley Tap House, Catherine Rooney's, and Trolley Oyster House.
