MrM Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 LOL, but I was listening to this instead when Blasphemous Rumors was just coming out: It was about as deep as I could go at 14
AquariusGuy Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I've loved this song for a while and just got around to the video.... oh all the man candy  and then this re-do of an older song.... that I caught during my free period of satellite radio. Not as great as the original but still good. 2
Former Member Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Song of the moment..."Sam Stone." Written and originally performed by John Prine, but Swamp Dogg's version makes me a tad misty eyed. This song is in remembrance to those who returned from "the conflict overseas." There was no need for John Prine to include what war Sam Stone served in, because the song says it all. I know some people will see this as just another good ole' boy shit kicker song, but if you listen to the lyrics, you'll find the poetry in it. Such a sad song, but beautiful at the same time.
Former Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I love this song! I haven't heard it in years, so thanks for dusting this one off W_L!
Headstall Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Love this song, too!! What I've been listening to, lately... love how un-studioish it is... 1
Former Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Love this song, too!! What I've been listening to, lately... love how un-studioish it is... I'm not familiar with this band, but I'm going to get acquainted with them. No need for bells and whistles, just a group of guys jamming together. Love it.
W_L Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Show me your True Colors, I just rediscovered 80's Music : 3
Headstall Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Such a pretty song... I like the lyrics, and her voice...
glitteryantlers Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 For my fellow long hair obsessed GA-members:
Daddydavek Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 On a day when we are saddened, shocked and once again reminded that the precious gift of life can be so easily ended, let's honor the fallen with peace and love.
A.J. Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Heard this song on the way to work in my rotation. I'm planning on making some considerable changes to my life and these lyrics stuck out in particular: Am I wrongFor thinking out the box from where I stay?Am I wrongFor saying that I choose another way?I ain't trying to do what everybody else doin'Just 'cause everybody doin' what they all doIf one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll growI'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home ... Am I trippingFor having a vision? My predictionI'ma be on the top of the worldWalk your walk and don't look back,Always do what you decideDon't let them control your life, that's just how I feel oh whoaFight for yours and don't let go,Don't let them compare you, noDon't worry, you're not alone, that's just how we feel 2
A.J. Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I cannot get this song out of my head This song, to me, is one of the greatest unrequited love songs ever written. I can't watch the video without bursting into tears. The scene where the old man kisses his wife in the hospital bed reminds me of my grandma kissing my grandfather at his funeral before they closed the casket.
