Okay, I feel more bad for Alek now. Everyone is always mad at him, even when he doesn't even do anything! He wasn't even in the chapter, he's off doing his thing, probably trying to make some changes or whatever. But everyone's expecting something horrible from him. Like he's gonna turn into a werewolf and go on a rampage.

 

His sister's reaction at seeing Liam with Nathan bugged me though. She looked "hurt" seeing them holding hands. What is Liam supposed to wait around on a hook for Alek to win him back? Recent developments in Alek's life or not, it's been 6 months, and Alek certainly didn't wait that long before he started dating someone else. I guess she knew how much Alek loved Liam and vice versa. But that apparently wasn't enough to get Alek to really commit, and Liam is a free agent so whatevs.

First of all, YAY! I think Alek deserves some sympathy... wait, wait, wait... if he felt so strongly he couldn't come out, then I have to respect that... I understand it... it is so easy to judge another... shouldn't we not try to understand and respect a person's situation even if we don't agree with his 'choice.' I'm not saying Liam should accept it... he shouldn't....

 

As far as the sister, what I saw was a sister hurting for her brother... we don't know exactly what he's going through, and she likely does... I don't think she's judging Liam with this new guy... I think it is more that she wants her brother to be happy, and this might feel like a death knell to that possibility... I know my sister would never give up hope   .... just saying....

Omg, Spikey.. My review exactly.. Alek's sister looked hurt. Like she knew her brother was hurting too and there it looked like Liam was moving on. I worry if she tells Alek, what her interpretation of the scene will be..

You're so kind hearted Gary when it comes to seeing the other side of things. Maybe, I should.....nope, not feeling it, can't do it. Alek had me on his side in Unforgivable, but I just don't have it in me to dredge up one ounce of sympathy or him now.  Don't really know why, but I don't foresee that changing any time soon or ever. Hmm...

If Alek's sister had looked sad, I would have seen it as her being upset for her brother loosing Liam. But she looks hurt, so she must know what Alek means to do to win him back, and that her brother has told Liam, he'll make it up to him. And now she's hurt Liam won't give him another chance. But maybe she'll see things with new eyes after Liam introduced Nathan as a friend.

Werewolves are extremely versitile in the mayhem and terror they cause. They like to change it up sometimes

Oh I'm sure Elena knows a lot better than anyone what Alek is dealing with. I'm in agreement with what Tim said in his review, I'm hoping her seeing Liam will get back to Alek and spur him on. I'm a big sap, and I want a happy ending for all three of these guys. Whatever it ends up being.

My selective hearing and memory have no recollection of this, whatsoever. As for Elena, it stands to reason that Alek would confide in her. But then, why isn't she kicking his butt for misleading the new girlfriend? Then again, maybe she did. 

 

What a very tangled and complex and angsty story Lit has woven. I hope she remembers where all the knots are, so she can untie them.

“You’d do what?”  Liam pulled away.  “Tell your parents about me?  About us?  You’d stop treating our relationship like something you’re ashamed of?”  Fuck, he thought he’d worked the bitterness out of his system... guess not. 

Alek leaned close, cupping Liam’s face with a large hand.  “I love you, Liam.  That hasn’t changed.  I fucked up, but I know I can fix this.”

 

Chapter 3

“Alek?”  Liam laughed, noting how bitter it sounded.  “He’s my ex-boyfriend… with an emphasis on EX.”

“Oh,” Nathan shifted in his chair and looked out the open door.  “I think he might want to change that.”

 

Chapter 4 (phone call from Alek)

“I know you don’t want to talk to me.  You don’t trust me, and you have every right to feel that way.  I messed up… a lot.  I was a selfish prick, and I hurt you.  I promise I’ll make things right.  I want to be someone who deserves you, even if you never take me back.  I love you, Liam.”

“Alek….”

“I know… I’m sorry,” Alek responded with a sad-sounding sigh.  “I have no right to say that… and I won’t say it again until I can prove it.”
