Don't know why, but totally been enthralled with these cute rodents lately. They ever chill and easy going Capybara.

They also have a pretty cool name, imo.

I actually grocery shopped today and gave the blueberries a look from afar as I decided on bananas and apples instead.

I will be trying this recipe, though as it looks really good. And, might I add, they look suspiciously like his Strawberry Oatmeal Crumble ( can’t remember their exact name atm) bars. Which reminds me, I keep forgetting to buy chia seeds.

My nephew introduced me to chia pudding, which I found very much to my liking, so I ran out of them. Oh wells…

PS: Have you tried Ontario hothouse strawberries? Every time I’ve bought them - even over the winter months - they’ve always been exceptionally tasty.

It reminded me of his strawberry bars too. Very similar, I think. The blueberry ones were delicious, and the Men enjoyed them with the skyr/maple syrup laced topping.

I haven't seen those strawberries in the stores around us, here. Sadly.  If they ever stock them, I'll try them.

Shopping was a bit of an adventure yesterday. There was a lost sparrow in the store, and something (a rat most likely) ran in front of us, kinda creepy.  We reported it.

I hope you have a good day, Reader!

OMG… You and Michael. He's always loved them, but they have become very popular.  He has always wanted several and is willing to dig a pond and winter home for them. LOL   They are chill though, you're right.

I found the picture of the carton online, and it turns out I’ve been buying the PC brand of Ontario greenhouse strawberries.

My Google search shows other stores have their own versions of this.

Hope that helps.

Poor sparrow. I hope he was able to find his/her way home.
A rat? Ugh…

My days been good so far, though I just came in from pulling a ridiculous amount of mushrooms (toadstools?) out of the lawn under the crabapple tree. Kinda gross, because some were turning black and were very soft.
Who knew having a left over box of “COVID gloves” would come in handy, eh?

Hope the rest of your day with your men is a good one!

1/2 Irish so enjoying potatoes isn't a chore

Hey Spyke, me too! Dad was Irish catholic from Tipperary! Mum Protestant lass from Manchester.  My Irish gran wasn’t amused when she was told about a new girlfriend!
I live in an area full of potato fields in Valencia so there is no shortage. Drs have yet to forbid my addiction to chips and roasties.  What they don’t know, they can’t ban!

The only strawberries we've seen here are from the USA. Nothing local.  I have a huge bundle of local asparagus in the fridge. Looking forward to eating that.

local asparagus sounds lovely - enjoy!

Mucci Farms - Kingsville, Ontario - is sold at my local Metro, so, if you are near one of them, I’d have a look. The name on the carton is smucchies.
